Does anyone know when stores will start to get the introductory OP kit for this month? Itching to get started.
April OP Kit
Join the freaking club...
I'm hoping it came in yesterday, won't know til later today since my FLGS owner is the only one that can open packages and he doesn't work on Thursdays...
It wasn't at my store yesterday when we had Legion night. Hoping it's there before next week's games.
Our store said next week they'll have prizes, but I'm not sure if they've heard anything or they're just assuming.
The army roster sheets being available is a good sign.
They have some time issues. We want to run once/week, and there's only so much time left in April. One would figure that in July, they want to go to the quarterly release schedule, so they are getting squeezed if they can't do it soon, assuming four scenarios in each mini-campaign.
My LGS isn't even doing anything...
The kit looks good, though. I wonder if those commander tokens are cardboard, acrylic or, dare I dream, metal.

Yeah they look pretty snazzy but I aspire not to use them.
Talked to the owner of my FLGS yesterday as the kit still hadn't arrived. He called his FFG rep and was informed that the Recruitment Kit had not been released yet.
So there's that...

From the look of them I expect they are metal, slightly smaller than a U.S. quarter, imprinted on one side and flat on the other. I saw the metal Fate tokens FFG released in the new OP must for L5R and that is what they are. I wasn't super impressed with them but figured the Legion ones could make a good coin for a coin-toss if necessary
Does anyone have an update? Doesn't make sense if they released an article yesterday with season 2, and no one has gotten then recruitment kit.
Amusingly, at Alternate Worlds in Maryland, we started the April OP games last night. All the rules are up on the site, so we know the way the games are to be set up, objectives, point values, etc.
We also know what to be looking for, like the secret unit for achievements, etc. I'm recording all the relevant information, and we'll give the bonus cards out when the kit comes in. We wanted to start this week, though, so we have sufficient time to do four weeks of the April game and four weeks of the May campaign done by the time the actual quarterly Ground Assault games begin.
I'm confused...is the Recruitment Kit different from the Launch kit? And going forward there will be Ground Assault Kits (as recently discussed on an FFG post)?

The Launch Kit was just for the launch weekend. https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2018/2/26/swl-rally-the-troops/
The Recruitment Kit is the organized play kit, intended for April & May. It is a partial Ground Assault Kit. https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2018/3/12/recruit-your-legions/
The Ground Assault Kits are the seasonal organized play kits intended to support 3 months worth of play. https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2018/4/11/prepare-for-ground-assaul/
Thanks, that sounds great. So I haven't really missed anything! I really like the way FFG is doing OP for this game, and it's set up to maximize community involvement through a flexible and incentive-based approach.
I like that they've set up different types of Operations that lend themselves to different types of events. I also really like that they plan on leaving the Operations up on the Product page for re-use at any time.

So you guys have gotten the kit already then?

No, FFG posted the Recruitment Kit Operations on the Legion Product Page and the Legion Organized Play page earlier this week.
I should know later today if my FLGS actually got the kit or not.

No.
As you can see in the first line of my second paragraph, we are noting all the things that will give rise to bonus cards and check marks on the sheet, but have started the Operation because, as NeonWolf notes, all the rules you need are already posted.
Have there been any updates to stores receiving the Recruitment Kit?

My FLGS got ours in this past Thursday/Friday. Great timing for us since we were 3/4 of the way through our first league and had a single-day event this past Saturday. It was nice to be able to actually hand out the rewards to everyone.

We got them for our game night on saturday. We didn't have enough people to hand out a ton of prizes, but the tokens were metal. They look great. There are silver and gold commander order tokens. (not really silver or gold ? )
Kit pics
Might wanna edit that pic to crop out the phone number, assuming it’s your pic.
Thank you, it has been corrected
