Accurate cards, please, FFG.

You guys think the reason they aren't releasing stuff for armada is because we keep breaking the game and they keep fixing it?

I admit, a great deal of my collection is outta date due to these upgrades...

Undoubtedly. But thats exactly why I would be willing to pay for it.

To be fair, if this is ridiculous, we have done vastly different tolerance levels for ridiculosity .

But I also have to remember and temper that apparently, I’m a good guy... and a good to, and s good organizer...

i keep all the excess all comers cards and distribute them to people who missed the tournament if they are otherwise coming when they can... prizes can also be exchanged at equivrjabt levels with me, too...

That's because you are a good guy Dras. Unfortunately too many will end up on eBay, and that still won't address the semi-casual players that make it to one tournament a year. Errata in this case is just the result of sloppy game design & insufficient playtesting. The least they can do is make replacements available to everyone. I'm not even asking for free replacements. I'll pay for the **** things, that's what I find ridiculous. They haven't even corrected the cards in any booster packs yet, and at least a few have been reprinted since the last Nerf.

Disappointing, heavy handed, squeaky wheel bull.

So if that's what it takes, I'm going to be the squeakiest **** wheel when it comes to calling errata what it is! It's either pandering to the complainers, or poor game design. Pick one. Then man up, and let people buy corrected game pieces. Yep it will cut into their profit margins, but that's what good game companies do when they issue errata!

Bull! Either their playtesters are too conservative of players, or they didn't feel it was an issue when all these things were released. Then we are back to, It's either pandering to the complainers, or poor game design. Pick one.

What would people pay for 3rd party alternate art cards with proper wording? Asking for a friend...

*edit

Would people be willing to pay $5 to participate in the vassal worlds tournament if it meant they got an alternate art card?

Nothing as I, too, own a color printer.

You mean you don't enjoy buying products that are out of date at the time of printing?

It is their play testers for sure.

We might get lucky and get updated cards in OP kits, but that is a big maybe. X-Wing has cards that got FAQ so hard the card is basically useless and they have not updated those via OP kits yet, but they have in IA.

Yep, and that's great for the % of Armada players that make it to all the tournaments. The rest of us can suck it, and print our own, but can't use them if we do make it to a tournament. Hilarious!

Every single errataed card should be at least be for sale. As well as an update rule book. This is getting ridiculous.

You know that’s not how tournament ownership requirements work. I understand the frustration but in all honesty there aren’t that many cards errata’d.

If we're lucky we get full-art weaker versions of cards they wanted us to use less?

But it is usually the good ones everyone likes using. Beyond just having correct cards, it would be nice to not have to be that guy with and new player and constantly saying, 'well, if you check the faq, almost none of your cards work the way you think they do...'

Can we not start complaining about the playtesters? I've talked to several of them and they're doing their best and are pretty good at their job. Like, fine, complain or whatever, but let's not start besmirching people, alright?

X-wing has turned into a game design cluster****! They couldn't even fix it with a near 2nd edition rerelease of the core. Armada was doing so well learning from the mistakes of X-wing too.

One, it’s a tournament, it’s that player’s responsibility to know how their fleet works. Two, “almost every”? Really? I mean, if you’re flying true YGH maybe. And then you’re not a new player, so my sympathy remains dead.

That's my point, either the playtesters never encountered these issues during development (doubtful!) or they really were not an issue for them (errata was pandering to the complainers.) or FFG didn't listen to the playtesters concerns, (poor game design.)

I'm not blaming the playtesters, I'm blaming FFG!

I am using hyperbole a bit. I do think my point stands, that as more things have the actual text changed, the more important it is to have an option for replacing those cards.

I see your concern and raise you that the tournament regulations do actually require current copies of the FAQ onsite for this reason. Yes it’s annoying. It would definitely be nice to get new cards. This thread verges on the ridiculous though.

1. It would be super nice to have this stuff, but if you're going to play in a tournament, you really have to know this stuff.

2. I would rather that FFG fixes issues with the game than keep old rules just because the cards are wrong.

(There seems to be a lot of first-worlditist going on here. Be thankful these are the issues.)

Yes, but most local groups are led by the tournament players, so even the casual games are going to be expected to be played according to the errata/tournament rules. Unless you are in a group that decided as a group to ignore the errata, and swear off tournament play, you are subject to the errata, even if you just show up to a casual game night.

1 No it's not my responsibility to memorize the changes to cards I'm not using.

(No one forced you to focus on this issue. If you feel that it's beneath you feel free to follow this link to somewhere more productive to your time.

If you're playing in a tourney, yeah it is.

I dont think there is anything wrong with asking for better product support for a game I like. I havent seen anyone (yet) take up arms and encourage riots in the streets. If we never talk about the issue, as negligible as you feel it to be, nothing will ever happen. FFG isnt a group of mind readers.

Maybe it is ridiculous, but apparently if you complain enough for the ridiculous, FFG caves to the complainers and then I get my replacement cards for errata I didn't see as needed! Win win. ;)

Nah. Armada isn't a trivia game.

If you show up to play the old Most Wanted, you'd be wrong. How are you NOT supposed to know the erratas? I'll leave it there, as your tone is definitely telling of your dislike of something.
