Oh hey they nerfed zombie Biggs.

@Ginkapo they nerfed Toryn?

They nerfed Luke a bit as well:

Luke Skywalker does not resolve the critical effect granted by Norra Wexley’s ability while attacking a ship with shields

I really wish this would've come sooner. I've kind of already moved on, but all these changes look really positive.

You can always come back. It seems they fixed many of the issues that pushed you away.

I really like the changes and am extremely glad I didn’t buy those 3rd flotillas.

@Mad Cat

thevonly problem being you can’t double tap after that FCT, which is the point of Yavaris...

... better served puttingbthe FCT elsewhere first.

Interesting that it doesn't go into effect right away. So it doesn't affect worlds I guess? I suppose they still wanted us to know they cared after Legion. That was nice of FFG.

Aspiration

Shields can be moved to hull zones on the ship that this card is equipped to (including through the card effect of Projection Experts), as long as the number of shields in the hull zone they are moved to does not exceed that hull zone’s maximum shield value.

Buffed.

Bail Organa

You cannot resolve this card’s effect to assign a round token to this card if the ship this card is equipped to is set aside.

Nerfed.

I already bought 'em... I guess my debris fields are gonna get a lot cooler looking.

Not nerfed, clarified as intended .

If you used it otherwise, you were “cheating”, as the rules were written.

As far as I understand, to Buff something is to improve it, to nerf is to decrease it.

In bails case, it’s not a nerf as it’s not removing an ability it had, it’s clarified it never had the ability.

I've never used more than two flotillas ever, anyway.

Posting them just to post them:

Blockade Run: The second player assigns 1 objective token to each of their ships after the objective is chosen, before any ships can be set aside by card effects.

Chimaera : Upgrade cards replaced by this card’s effect are no longer equipped to this ship or part of your fleet. They can be chosen by this card’s effect to replace your current equipped [Fleet Command] upgrade card. When determining the fleet point cost of the ship with this card equipped at the end of the game, the [Fleet Command] upgrade card currently equipped is the only one counted (even if that card is discarded because of its own effect).

Grand Admiral Thrawn: When a friendly ship gains a command dial as part of Grand Admiral Thrawn’s effect, that ship can spend that dial to gain a matching command token.

Strategic Adviser: This card’s effect can only resolve if the ship it is equipped to could activate this turn

Ok so I'm going to roll through and do the changes:

MAJOR CHANGES:

-Fleets are now restricted to two flotillas maximum.

-If the only ships remaining at the end of a round are flotillas a player is tabled.

-Relay is now limited so that the squadron providing relay has to be within command range of the ship (i.e. Distance 3, or Distance 5 with boosted comms).

OTHER CHANGES:

-Avenger is now an exhaust upgrade (i.e. once per turn).

-Yavaris can now no longer combo Flight Commander and Fighter Coordination Teams. The card has been changed so that if squadrons do not move within its activation then they can fire twice (i.e. you can't FCT and then Yavaris those squads that you just FCT'd).

-Gallant Haven now reduces damage by 1 to a minimum of 1.

-Biggs damage cannot be passed to a squadron that has already been destroyed and is kept on the board because of Rieekan.

-Luke does not resolve the crit effect granted by Norra Wexley's ability.

-Strategic Adviser may only be used if the ship it is equipped to could have activated (i.e. it can only be used if it's unactivated).

NICHE CHANGES AND CLARIFICATIONS (that you can go look up yourself)

- Chimaera's discarding cards.

- Governor Pryce and Round Tokens

- Bail Organa can't be used if ship is set aside

- Profundity points if destroyed

-Thrawn giving a token

-Ordnance Pods needing to be in arc and range

-Aspiration works with Projection experts

-Raddus ship not being able to activate first even if Raddus is destroyed after the deployment

-Set aside ships still get objective tokens IF the token is assigned before being set aside (i.e. Blockade Run and Intel Sweep)

-Abilities that trigger when a command dial is revealed only occur off of a command pulled from a stack.

If I missed anything let me know.

I’m curious if there is any foreshadowing here? Could the Fighter game have gotten nerfing due to new squadrons? Maybe the Flotilla limit for new flotillas?

Heavy handed and disappointing, but not likely to affect me much. I only have one fleet, that I can think of, that will never see a tournament now. As with last time, the Nerf bat hit things it didn't need to.

Nah.. my guess they looked at the meta, realized there was too little variety in list design and adapted the rules to put an end problem lists.

Really?

Re: Bail at least:

The Rules were there. This is literally a clarification of them, not a re write (errata)

Dude you are out of your mind. They quite literarly save the games future with this fix.

More than 2 flotillas if they are doing something, maybe pushing squads I have no problem with.

Just being there for activation padding is lame.

So, perhaps this FAQ is "something big"!

What page is the Flotilla cap on? I keep looking for it and I can't find it.

Is there a way to have ffg buy back flotillas above 2? :D or simply by saying you can use them for friendly games, they can get away with it?

Somebody's got 11 Gozanti's on sale now in Germany... :)

It is in the tournament regs, not the FAQ.

AH! Well, I never played more than 2 flotillas anyway. I feel bad for those who bought 4 or 5, but hey, that's what you get for abusing game mechanics xD
