Imperial Equivalent of Commandos?

By HanScottFirst, in Star Wars: Legion

So, Rebels are getting Han and the Commandos, both which look sweet, but here are my guesses for what the Imperial equivalent will be:

> Death troopers (they better have something better than an E-11 lol)

> Commander Krennick as the commander

or

> Scout troopers (or just call them special ops troopers)

> Some generic stormtrooper commander

Maybe today we will get some news?

I believe you mean Director Krennic. A Commander is below his station.

Such aspirations, I hope he doesn't choke on them.

Well, you have to start somewhere.

Palpy and Crimson guard? considered elite but not commando elite.

The game do not need to have symmetrical releases, so looks nice Crimson Guards as Special Forces.

Scout Troopsrs match rebel commandos.

Expecting probe droids next

I want scout-snipers. Maybe with an E-web team.

Scout Troopers with pistols, a sniper heavy weapon figure and an E-Web heavy weapon figure.

Commander should be a named Officer, so that people can paint them to be any random Imperial Crew of their choosing.

Maybe Jerjerrod, people seem to like him...

Honestly, I hope the E web is a battlefield piece that any adjacent trooper can use.

Probe droids would be great - new unit type to go with troopers and vehicles; droids.

As for death troopers, I could see then maybe having a black and white for attack and a “—“ for morale.

If jerjerod shows up, he needs to reduce the cost of trooper units, so he can take more as he needs more men.

E-Web should be a Heavy Weapon Upgrade, if only so the Rebels don't steal it. Considering the E-Web engineer from IA is a Scout Trooper, it could come with them.

Probe Droids would make a great support unit.

Death troopers should be the 2nd option for Imperial Spec-Ops, and arrive with Krennic.

Jerjerrod should allow you to add 1 additional Corps Unit to your list for free.

I could see us getting ISB Infiltrators as well. They could be a Special Forces unit. Free move at the beginning of the game. Built in Cover 1. Something like that.

That has always bothered me about the e-web, both from imperial assault and WotC miniatures. The attached trooper.

Perhaps the middle ground, and fits with the setup seen in Empire Strikes Back, that a trooper upgrade/unit that once deployed is not movable. Give it an arc and it becomes a deployable strategic asset. Thematically the idea of troopers storming a heavy gun to turn it on their own units is something seen often.

Well he is everyone’s favourite in armada. Hes the best thing since the dissolution of the senate

Yeah the game doesnt need symmetrical releases but until theres been a handful of releases to actually fill the dang ranks out yes it does.

Theres no Elite trooper at all right now, so the imps getting one next is needed.

After that it doesnt really matter how they are released as long as they keep the relative power as equal as they can.

Id prefer if they didn't match in things like commando's. I'd like to see K-2SO imperial Security Droids, or Dewback riding Storm troopers, or some sort of small tank, that is cheaper than a ATST for Veers.

The empire currently has no Spec-Ops Units.

KX-Series Security Droids would make for a useful Spec-Ops, but aren't iconic enough for the first few waves.

Dewback Patrols would be a good Support Unit.

A "small tank" for the empire could be a 2-M Hover Tank, a TX-225 GAVw "Occupier" Combat Assault Tank (which is not a hovertank), a Scout-class 2-M Repulsor Tank and an AT-PT for a light walker option. The first 2 would fit into the Heavy category whilst the latter 2 fit into Support.

Looking for an Imperial equivalent of Commandos then I would say Storm Commandos as apposed to your standard scout troopers. But I do like the previously mentioned idea that releases don't need to be in parallel with each other.

For some reason reading this conjured a mental image of a Dewback being carried on a plinth by Stormtroopers ala 300...which is totally a unit I would start Empire for.

The armour is the same. People will probably paint them to be Scout Troopers anyway.

E-Web with a spot for trooper base. Could be a hard point objective and usable all in one :)

I was hoping the E web team would be more like this, more cool looking. Rules wise not sure how it should move and be deployed, should it have a notch in the base like a speeder so it's not too maneuverable? Or just be on a larger round base.

Could make it Stationary, that's a keyword we have. Like, after deployment it gains stationary or as an Action it can lose stationary.

Or make it Cumbersome, so you can't fire and move.
