Hi all, I've recently gotten into game of thrones LCG and have been playing with a friend over OCTGN. Really enjoying it. This is the first baratheon deck I've built using the full card library, had previously only been using the core cards. I'd appreciate any comments / suggestions. The main thrust of this deck is lots of characters with reknown, good protection to keep them alive (davos, bodyguard, aemon, etc) and a healthy amount of stealth to help me keep winning challenges. My regular opponent plays Stark and Targ.

since you have all saves you might want to look into switching wildfire for valar

i'd take aegon's blade, martial law, parting blow, and to be a stag out. I'd put in 3x Banner for the storm and 3x diustinct mastery

I'd look into switching Core Set Renly for King Renly

I'd take time for raven's out (unless you need a situational military icon that badly) maybe use winter festival or the red wedding

since you are running two cards that go back into shadows and power of blood/royal guard I'd switch Knight of flowers for margeary tyrell (the shadows one, not the newest one)

Not sure I understand your reasoning behind switching out to be a stag with distinct mastery? At first glace TBaS seems superior - not limited by which character type it can stand and it has a side effect which may prove useful. Distinct mastery doesn't have the pre-req of needing a power struggle and it can be done in any phase, but there are far few characters in my deck it can be used on.

I swapped out wildfire for red wedding. Hadn't looked too closely at that card before, but it is a good one. Has a nice synergy with Stannis.

I put a little more shadow tech in at the expense of aegon's blade and parting blow. Margery is in there now along with the iron throne and the black cells. City of lies stays as a result. I like the high intiative on it in addition to the free shadow cards. I'm tempted to put varys into the deck also.

I had thought about using the king version of renly, but the core set version is very hard to go past. If I went with the king version I feel like I would need to put an abandoned forge and some rusted swords in there to get best use out of him. Something would have to give, but with the core version I don't need anything extra and he is a great card.

I also dropped the arena knights in favour of house florent scouts. I felt I was running to many high cost characters. The scouts aren't quite as good as the knights, but they're pretty close and they're cheaper.

First game tonight, will be interesting to see how it goes.

DM is usuable first turn, is not reliant on you making sure you have a power struggle in your used plot deck and with baras mush STR (very few higher then 3) your not going to be able to use it a whole lot. I believe its in the FAQ where it states that in order to be able to play To Bew a you need to have a valid target for the return from discard part of the card.

you are worried about addinf stuff to king renly, but to get more then one challenge out of CS renly you need to have other stuff two. I also am a renown fiend.

TbaS seems useful at first, but as Lars pointed out, you have to have something in your discard pile to actually trigger it. I think it becomes more useful with "Loyal Guard". It has a small power and is always useful.
