If thats all they can rune effectively then they deserved to have FFG rune their plans.

I detect some Scottish-ery.
You’ll rune the day!

Hehe
I hope they do release it right before worlds. If your doing some stupid list with a crap load of flotillas then you should get screwed

So what you're saying is that you have inside information that Wave 8 is an all Imperial wave? Or that we are getting Kotor ships.

And to play devil's advocate here.... players who are good enough to get a slot at worlds should also be plenty good enough to have at least a preliminary backup plan in case any of the really obvious nerfs happen.
I.e. it wouldn't be any great surprise to anyone if relay or flotillas were affected negatively by the faq, and not having a plan for what you are going to do if they are affected is just wilfull ignorance.
I like this perspective.

Hehe, you said begets...
I never will be a fan of the nerf bat. Half the argument for it is that x and y lists are no fun to play against. You know what's really no fun, being that semi-casual player that shows up to play, only to find out half his fleet no longer works the way it used to. Seriously, twice in the last 3 months I have had to pull up the nerf list on my phone for an opponent. You think that is conducive to expanding the community? I wouldn't even mind as much if they threw errata versions of cards and rules in some of the subsequent booster packs as freebies.
Nope, it's up to the players to find download and print everything. Fine if you are on here all the time, but that's not even a quarter of Armada players. The casual players are represented even less. This thread is all about how a FAQ(Nerf) so close to Worlds would cause a negative experience. How many negative experiences are FFG causing with erratas, unknown to the semi-casual players that come and go from Armada as life interferes with gaming?
Just a little bit of personal perspective! Take it as you want.
Its not like the nerf bat is common or FaQ's for that matter in Armada.
I am sure someone here can tell us the number of days since thw last one.

FaQs are fine, that's just rules clarification. Errata (nerfs) fall under the heading of "Only as a last resort!" As we have already had one, that should be good for at least another year.
I’m actually hoping they don’t nerf flotillas or relay. I think they have become established aspects of play and frankly there are counters to them. Nerf this and it just adds weight to something else. So far the developers have done a great job of solving balance through new upgrades and I think that’s more healthy. I know I’m probably alone but I don’t think the demolisher nerf did anything good for the game for example.
I'm so fuckeryling pissed I didn't get on today until after the filter jokes got stale.
I heard they might do a 1:1 rule of sensoring words with **** and fuckery. ****, this shittery has already started.
13 hours ago, Ardaedhel said:This seems like the obvious choice. I mean, the proposed changes are out there. Nobody really knows what's actually going to come down, but there's enough buzz around certain things like the tabling rule, relay nerf, 1:1 rule, etc, that, if you're going to Worlds, it would be wise to practice with a fleet that accounts for these changes.
I do think it's too close to worlds for a major rules errata at this point, but that doesn't mean there's nothing you can do to prepare for it if it does come down. Might there be something unexpected and out of the blue? Sure. But there's a pretty good chance it'll at least have a similar effect to the (more realistic) proposals we've been kicking around here fora year.
What is the 1:1 rule that is being speculated?

No more than 1 flotilla allowed per non-flotilla in the fleet.
Only losers win Worlds ???

Doesn’t effect my fleets so moving on.
Edited by VetnorSomeone good enough to win worlds should also be good enough to deal with a new FAQ.
Part of playing a game at the highest competitive level is navigating all obstacles, be they an opponent or a shift in the rules.

Agreed. But what about those not quite in the top? Good players, with a list they practiced, but probably not hardcore.

Are they expecting to WIN worlds, or are they going to compete and have a blast?
Perhaps adaptability is what sets the good apart from the great?
Legit question.
Im never going to be part of either category.
21 hours ago, ImpStarDeuces said:It's a game. Have fun.
Exactly! If you make it halfway accross the world to play in armada worlds you're already winning by playing the game you love.
Take a list you love to fly and see if you can make it champion! So what they faqed/nerfed something... It's either added challenge or if youcan't fly your planned list at all, you had a list that was really undermining everybody else's fun and we love you for adapting last minute to make it fun for everyone.
