This particular group plays at the Game Matrix in Tacoma in Friday nights.

If you are closer to Federal Way, I know there is a Sunday group that meets at Fantasium Comics and Games.

These are my Final 4 for CAC Saturday. Any input is appreciated. If I had to narrow it down to 2 right now it would probably be lists 2 & 3 but even then I'm not convinced lol.

So I mashed two together. I replaced the Fenn from list 4 and replaced him with the Dalan build from list 1. Then swapped out Guri's predator for expertise. Keeps the list at 97 pts to almost guarantee initiative for Thweek and Guri's focus token can be used for defense or if stressed.

I will actually be there tonight!

Campaign Against Cancer tournament (Vancouver, WA) this past weekend had 29 entrants playing in 6 rounds of swiss.

@RiddleMeBats and I drove down together. I think he went 3-3 running list 2 above (Dalan Oberos, Asajj, and Jakku Gunrunner)? He may need to correct me.

I went 5-1 and took third with my list "Elzar's Spice Weasel Surprise."

First match was against Poe and Dash. I killed Poe with two Proton Bombs in the first two rounds of combat... I never bothered to shoot at him once. Direct Hit on first one, Console Fire on second one. Just blocked him with all my ships to deny actions and running away with boost and force him to eat the bombs from the BS/F that was protected with Deflective Plating. BUT then Ezra died and I made the biggest mistake of the day (and I knew it and was thinking it the entire time I was setting dials)... I turned Lowhhrick and the BS/F bomber so they where going opposite directions (to avoid obstacles). Setting dials I told myself it was a mistake and it certainly was with a ship like Dash. Dash picked off each of them separately and I lost first match. BUT then I won the next five.

Fun day. John and I both walked away with custom painted ships and various alt art cards. I believe I heard CAC nation wide ended up raising over $25k for various cancer research non-profits.

@Sephlar is correct on the list. Was a lot of fun although I didn't play nearly aggressive enough in a few games and I think that cost me.

Highlight was definitely first game where I Black Market Sliced 2 of 3 ships for kills at the end. Slicer was doing work all day!

Also expect to see a lot more tugboat builds in the future.

Heroes of the Aturi Cluster returns next week as scheduled.

Truth is. I have not been having fun playing at the matrix ever since we got yelled at for having fun playing the last auturi night. I haven’t felt welcome there since then.

I'm sorry you've felt that way Fuzzy. Truth is I haven't felt any sort of hostility or unwelcomeness since that night but I also tend to be oblivious to others fairly often. If we want to discuss finding another store to play at I'm open to it although I really like the normal group we have right now.

I will be there tonight. Trying to get there a bit early but we'll see how work goes. I'll post here if I'm arriving early. I also invited a kid to come by so his mom might bring him in. He's 12-ish if I were to guess and I'll make sure to bring stuff to teach him with. I'll also be bringing some fun concept scum lists I haven't flown so we'll see how they go.

Every once in a while, we get loud during HotAC.... I get it. I understand.

I don't feel like other groups are held to the same standard. Two months ago we were in there when three different RPG groups were going. It was one of the more packed casual nights I've seen at the store and many various games were going. @RiddleMeBats and I had to play xwing on that table in the front because every table was packed full and is was difficult to even think, because of how loud it was. No one was going around and telling the talking, loud RPG groups to keep it down at that time. I get that when it is quieter in there and our table breaks out in a loud roar it comes across as us being the bad guys.

I have voiced what I have to say about the support from the store more privately or in less public forums and I'll continue to try and be a positive influence for the store.

I can tell you that when I travel to other stores and visit with regulars from other stores, I build up Game Matrix every time I can. I can not say that I've felt our group has been supported enough in the last two years by the store to actually earn that praise from me. I am raising a board/table top playing young man and I have a supportive wife and an extended family who all enjoy what I call "analog gaming." Game Matrix has been there a long time. I'm sure something will be worked out eventually to have us supported again.

I have had a pretty chill day so I'm planning on being at the store no later than 5:30 if anyone is able and wanting to swing by early.

We are on for HotAC tomorrow. I will try to arrive between 6:15 and 6:30. I'd like to get started with dials by 7:30.

I will be bringing my SW Legion core set with me to trade anyone who wants to ... my Imperial stuff for your Rebel stuff (I'm playing only rebel going forward).

I can also show off my first troop of painted rebels. I'm completely new to mini painting. Last night I started to prep my second squad of troops as well as 2 AT-RTs (one from core, one from expansion).

NO. It's an optional $5 if you want in on the swag at the end of the season. I'm not forcing anyone to do it. It's optional.
