If all the cards just did what they said...what would your 100point squad look like.
Man I'd be mighty tempted to run whisper ,palpatine and a ruthlessness tilt aggressor.

Probably the same stuff I run now. Anything broken enough to require an FAQ is no fun to fly and doesn't take much skill. Also, it's no fun for whoever you're playing.
Why would I want to fly that instead of a wholesome, balanced list? I pride myself on not flying the meta lists.
Edited by Npmartian3 x jumps with original stats, intel, and pre-faq barrel roll. Some kind of degenerate combo that online builders no longer let me do.
I'd probably run some Mindlinked Ventress, Fenn Rau, and Palob. Three of my favorite ships together.
A YV-666 with three Tacticians.
Or maybe a swarm of TIE Aggressors with the IG-2000 title.

My original thought was 3x wookies with 2 tacticians each.
I mean, probably Tie Phantoms, right? Like, Phantoms were crazy good.
Or Biggs/Lowrick/Stressezra/Rex. That one's actually still pretty solid.

so..torpscouts that can barrel-roll like small ships can?
Dengaroo. I never got to play it before the nerfs.

You sir! Your jib! I like the cut of it.

Biggs/Jess/Braylen/Rex (with BMST's and Tactician!)
I've played against it, and it was terrifying. No Lowrisk, and a little bit of stress jank, so I'm more ok with that one.
Edited by NpmartianBlended-Family-Bots: Attanni Mindlink IG-88s, with Inaldra (ATML and Light Scyk).
B and C each with ATML, FCS, Flechette Cannons (the only damaging ones which fit points-wise), titles and Autothrusters.
It wouldn't light the world on fire, but it'd be pretty cool. I had a tournament right after that FAQ hit, before it *officially* took effect, but my local FLGS used those rules in the kit tournament and I never got the chance to actually put it on the table.
Biggs. I would run biggs...
<cries>
Nice question, @Velvetelvis. I went over the FAQ, and there's a few really, really good options. First, a few things I don't think will work:
1. Dengaroo. Add all the jank you want; it's surviving 2 turns against Kanan/Fenn.
2. Phantoms, mainly because of the current PS race; positioning doesn't matter against RAClo.
3. Multiple bombing K-wings. If anything, NyManda will come back, but getting a K-wing nuked on the first turn by harpoons will not work out well.
Onto what I would fly, if winning were the only objective:
Tactician Miranda. Triple stressing a ship in a single turn is pretty nice, all things considered. Add to that the general strength of Miranda, and Advanced SLAM working again to get a brutally strong ship. I'd probably go Miranda and Dash, because length-wise barrel rolling and boosting is pretty amazing on a large based ship.
Triple tactician YV-666s, or double tactician and Gunner. Maybe on of them paired with Thweek and Fenn.
Kestal and Double edge, paired with two SSs, each with Lightweight Frame and the IG-2000 title. The aces with Ion Turrets, generics with Unguided rockets. Kestal with VI, Edge with Snap Shot. Gunner on each ship, with massive anti-ace control and quite high durability, paired with a good dial.
Triple JM5Ks, because they're by far the strongest thing to ever be part of this game. Add the longer barrel roll and rescinding of all 5-7 nerfs (depending on interpretation), and they'll flatten anything else.
X7 defenders and Phantoms. Probably Whisper, a defender, and Palp for max effect.
Dengaroo, hands down

So there's nothing off-meta which involves stuff which got FAQ'd out? No oddball Manaroo lists tossing focus tokens from across the map? It's BS on a Lone Wolf Dengar, but cute and probably fair on a Laetin A'Shera. Generic TIE Phantoms are still going to be off-meta if they decloak at PS 5.
For pure competitive meta smashing, I'm pretty sure it would still be Parattanni. The only thing that might stand a chance against it might be the new Ghost / Fenn, which I haven't tested.
x/7 defenders
I thought un-nerfed palp was supposed to be this unfair game ending thing but not one person has mentioned him, mostly scum. I agree with Astech though, you could undo a couple of the old nerfs and it would mean **** against some of the op jank we have now.
edit: Missed jonnyd sorry bro, your emperer thanks you.
Edited by LordFajubiI went for palpatine in the o.p.
So, as far as x7 goes...I realy haven't had much of a difference compared to pre nerf. The biggest thing is the stress stopping it I guess.
But yeah commonwealth defenders feels pretty good in a no FAQ universe. I've never once had a problem with dengaroo back then. I think i only played against it maybe 3 times. But it didn't seem that hard.
Personally, I wouldn't fly anything meta, I would fly both named tie aggressor pilots and the ept generics with tlt and ig 2000, not meta, just super janky.
For funnies, definitely pre-nerf Tragedy Simulator Nym.
I can't remember the combo that lets you boost before you drop a bomb though... what was that again...? Genius?
The sad and sickest part of this game is that the current boogeymen make all the rest seem utterly tame... Like, 3 pre-nerf deadeye scouts? (even with smallship-BR and deadeye)??? That's pretty good, but we have sick sick disgusting things that can easily beat that now. Whisper has never been that successful. And is awful now. PS war Powercreep like crazy. Nym and Poe and Dengar. I don't know if Paratanni pre-nerf would actually still be that efficient. Seems like there are ways to beat that list.
I'd probably pick 3 un-nerfed Jumps. Was it deadeye? (what was the salv-astro again?)
small ship BR, no half points. Holy frigging crap. What a disgusting power creep. And large base, fat upgraded ships at its very worst, with no counters in 14 waves yet again rears its ugly head.
Just give me a harpoon missile that does 2x damage to large bases.
I would run four mindlinked scyks. I had a list all ready to try out and then the faq dropped.
