A guy who plays Imperial Assault in my area just gave me some when we were discussing painting our figures.

Veers ready for tomorrow's test drive
Gideon got taller.
Snowtroopers, squad 1
Thanks to @VAYASAN for figuring out the off-white wahs, I'll definitely be using this on other things in the future.
Look brilliant. Much better than mine on their snowy bases.

I normally go asphalt, but I had an unopened bottle of snow basing paste.
Squad 2 will be colorful and on asphalt
Galactic Marines

Too red for what?
Preference?
I'm going on the idea that different units of Galactic Marines have different colors, just like all of the other troopers in the GAotR.
I was not attempting to replicate the squad colors of the unit seen in RotS on Mygeeto.

Ah. I see
Great work mate.
Alderaanian Consular Security
Love your fleet troopers! I was going to try mine in a WWII GI color scheme, but I'm getting cold feet. ?
@Zrob314 how did you paint the Fleet Commander? I love it!

Thank you very much! I tried to match it as closely as I could to the opening scene in ANH.
(v) = Vallejo Model Color (c) = Citadel
Shirt was (c)steel legion drab -> (c)seraphim sepia (no highlight stage)
Pants and jacket was (v) khaki grey _> seraphim or agrax I'm sorry I didn't keep a note - (v)khaki -> khaki lightened with (c)white scar The patch on the top of the jacket is just subtlely lighter than the jacket, so I think I just did that (v)khaki -> khaki lightened with (c)screaming skull with the same wash used
Stripe on pants was (c)rhinox hide -> (c)agrax
Boots was (c)Doombull brown -> (c)Agrax earthshade -> (c)mournfang brown/(c)skragg brown
Rank badge: (v)Dark Prussian Blue -> (c) drakkenhof nightshade -> (v)Prussian Blue
I did 8 of the 14 figures in 7 different dark skin tones, here's what I did for those (this I actually kept notes on)
- 1 Mournfang/Maccrage (1:1/4) - Reikland - Mournfang/Maccragge - Brighten with a mix of skragg and gorthor - final hilight with the skragg/gorthor (this would be the commander in the 4th and 5th pictures)
- 2 Dryad - Druchii - Gorthor - Cadian (this would be the commander in the first and second pictures)
- 3 Rhinox - Reikland - Gorthor/Rhinox - Gorthor - Gorthor/Skragg
- 4 Gorthor -Reikkland/Drakkenhoff - Cadian to Kislev, adding Gorthor in each stage (2/1)
- 5 Gorthor -Seraphim - Cadian to Kislev, adding Gorthor in each stage (2/1)
- 6 Mournfang/Maccrage - G4 Wash - Add a 2:1 Of Tau Light Ochre/Gorthor in stages to base color ending with pure highlight
- 7 Black/Rhinox - Druchii - highlight base with mournfang, finish brightening with a little grey
- 8 Mournfang/Maccrage (1:1/4) - Reikland - Mournfang/Maccragge - Brighten with a mix of skragg and gorthor - final hilight with the skragg/gorthor
(cadian to kislev means that you do Cadian fleshtone -> Cadian Fleshton/Kislev Flesh -> Kislev Flesh as a three stage transition)

That's not a bad look, I saw someone did theirs recently in sort of a Vietnam era US army and it looked pretty cool.
There's a few different era of WWII US GI.
I think if I did more I might go late WWI US GI, or 67-68 US Marine
Stormtroopers (in Imperial Guard livery)
Stormtrooper Squad 5/6
I went for a unit that's been stationed in a desert type location for too long. Goes with the fact that I'll be running/demoing Legion for people at Burning Man in a few weeks.
So this is just basic Stormtroopers with a wash/glaze made or Vallejo Khaki to simulate the dust that just never goes away after awhile. Agrellan earth for the base.
Some closeups on the HH-12 trooper

Back from TTItD, gotta kill time until Scouts and Boba come in
First off, Scout Troopers.
It I have settled that my second of each unit (mostly) will be the dusty, post Burning Man look. I'm fond of it.
I ordered a bunch of scatter from Legion Terrain. They're the ones that will prepaint. I got some pre-paint and some unpainted. I'm happy with all of it. What I paid to have the scatter painted wasn't too much and saved a small hassle project while letting me do some customized on my own (shown here). The cube crates are from an IA set.
Finally this is two pieces from 3d6 Table Top Armory. I had the random luck of seeing them post on reddit right after their webstore opened and being their first order. Quality stuff and they've been helpful along the way. Also quit economical, especially if you don't own or have access to a 3d Printer. I have made and am getting more Imperial Terrain stuff and this will fit in quit nicely with that.
This is a single piece barricade, it is not separate pieces
The tower comes apart in three pieces.
This guy.....
I was scared of doing the jets and then remembered @Sorastro 's advice: "Paint Boldly"
