A little help with defense

By player360161, in WFRP Rules Questions

Hello everybody!

Just a small and quick question: a lot of actions are resolved as an opposed check versus target defense. That's only the armor defense stat? Or the small number between brackets on the bad guys lists? There's no other sum here? Sounds a little too easy to strike... (got two PCs dead after just two sessions. And they simply destroyed the Eldritch Order in Eye for an eye. No chance for them to complete the ritual)

Thanks in advance

You add the target defence (armor defence or number in parentheses) as that number of misfortune dice, plus the normal 1 challenge die difficulty (or more), plus the difficulty of the action.

Everyone had quite a bit of trouble hitting in my session.

You roll your dice pool with 1 challenge die in combat. You add misfortune dice for defence. You also add more misfortune dice or challenge dice for active defence cards (NPCs have these too even though it's not printed in their stats).

But my opinion is that hitting is too easy. You can find my house rules on hammerzeit fixing what I consider the only flaw of WFRP3rd.
