Too be fair veers was announced right after legion itself, hes just about to come out alongside leia. Him and his dumbass snow troopers fighting on tattooine. Im surprised they havent announced the imperial equiv of solo yet

It's a new game. Sure, it's a lot right now, plenty of stuff to get excited about for people who want into legion. At worst, it'll blow over, at best, they're showing commitment to a new approach to the Star Wars Galaxy and a cool new game.

But it's not like it's drowning out everything else. Wave VII, by Armada Standards, has landed fairly recently, and there are plenty of other topics on the news page.

I really can't imagine any news before World's for Armada, while X-Wing should get an announcement on 4/20 for the Solo movie tie-in ships that are missing from the wave (the extra Imperial TIE-Sidecar thing and the Scum version of the Falcon)

Well, to be fair Veers was announced at Legion's debut, basically. This is "merely" a preview article about what's included.

FFG clearly wants a big rapid push for Legion's debut, trying to get Leia and Veers out within two months of release to minimize some of the staleness. Since Legion requires a commander, otherwise you'd see Luke vs Vader in every game until a new wave dropped. At least this way, there are more matchups available quickly (Luke vs Vader, Leia vs Vader, Luke vs Veers, Leia vs Veers).

I could be mis-remembering, but I feel like when Armada dropped there was an unintended delay in getting the rest of the Wave 1 ships out, so that for awhile it was just Core Sets which made for very stale games and didn't showcase the true nature of Armada. This likely did a pretty big disservice to enticing or winning over new players, such that I'm sure the idea with LEGION was to make sure there was a massive back-to-back drop of Core/Wave 1 and then Leia and then Veers.

At least for the forseeable future, Legion is getting monthly releases with smaller content (April is Veers+Snowtroopers, May is Leia+Fleet Troopers, June is obstacles and objective tokens, July is Han+Rebel Commandos). It helps that FFG is dealing with a lot more tried and tested formula for Legion, so balancing is easier.

I don't think they really announced a new commander. I think that they basically rewrote an old announcement, because he was originally announced as General Weiss (from IA).

The original article might have been scrubbed but it says Veers. Weiss does come in the AtSt as a pilot/crew/whatever that slot is.

Not even close. Expect releases about every 4-6 weeks for legion. People who call these waves will be up to 8 by the end of the year. Me I’m just calling it the May release, June, July, etc

Well, it’s wave 1 at the monent, Solo is the start of wave 2.

they are just trickling it out monthly instead of all at once — but there are definite “waves” still. They are on the product page as such.

Waves are no doubt tested all together, for one / are inherently mirrored on sides thus far, but again, just releasing different tones.
