They also only gain the ability while the model with the upgrade is defending, so they can only protect Veers, not chumps like Vader.

Good point!

Amazon has been known to be wrong. Those could be from 3rd party sites. They also said Leia and Fleet are May 21st.
Hopefully your shop is right about the 16th or 17th of april, but FFG releases are usually on Thursdays. The spanish site says April for Veers and Snowies and May for Leia and Fleet. It's FFG, you never really know with stuff.

Why do you say that?

Well he can hand out two free Aim tokens a turn as an action and he removes 1 suppression from a friendly unit when he activates. On top having decent offensive power himself, and his command cards are pretty dang good too.
Imagine two units of stormtroopers who are in heavy cover. Veers gives them each an aim token, and then they use their two actions to Dodge and Shoot. Thats some pretty high durability and offensive power.
And he himself will be very difficult to kill while there are still stormtroopers near him. For each unit, he can cancel 1 hit result. So if he is near three units of Stormtroopers, thats 3 canceled hit results. At a cost of only a 50/50 chance of killing a Stormtrooper per hit canceled.
And anything that gets through Veers still has his own defense roll and cover to consider.
Edited by BadMotivatorWith the new emphasis on commanders buffing units by giving them orders, this card just got a little bit less crappy.

i will use veers with 2 troopers with mortars equipped and a squad of bike as base .
Will definitely use Veers over Vader. He has decent command cards and allows me to have a 20% or so bigger army with all the points I'm saving. Plus I won't run into Vader vs Vader matches, Veers vs Veers is less annoying as the model can quite easily represent a generic Imperial general, while two Vaders aren't so easily explained ![]()

Really doubt it.
Veers and the Snowtrooper are on the boat (since Febrary). Normally they should be at shipping really soon (unless they are hold back and wait for Leia for a combined release).
Leia and Fleet Troopers are still in printing. It takes them at least 6-8 weeks on the boat and 1-2 weeks shipping. IF the status (at the Printer) is still correct, we will have to wait for Leia for 2-3 month.
Han and Rebel Commandos are in Develepment.
Local store locked in pre-orders this week per instructions/discussion with their distributor, they indicated that usually means by end of month... #grainofsalt

My problem with this is that it's so expensive and you'll get killed at range one whether they have a command or not. Drawing a corps token is pretty predictable when 60-70% of your army is corps and you can issue commands to the other portion
