General Veers preview is up

Looks like it will give more options to the Imperial side. I expect the Leia expansion to do same thing for rebels.

Am I reading Maximum Firepower right, its range 4? Not sure what the range means on the card.

It's range 4 and beyond.

Dodge n Aims for vehicles will make him the armor commander.

This is better than I thought. I knew he was not worth 90pts like leia, but his command cards are way better. I love him. Like I thought, everyone with ditch Vader with him around.

how come no announcement?

is the cancel a crit for that turn only?

Yes, its for that turn only, because once the turn is over, the command card is gone and its effects can no longer be applied.

Veers seems pretty good. He makes the speeder spam list even better!

His bubbles (aim tokens, suppression removal, soaking damage and then spreading it around) and untapping cards make him a pretty strong fit for fully-loaded infantry squads, too.

The complaints about the HH-12 or Targeting Scopes - poor action economy - are mitigated heavily by Veers' ability to freely untap their cards once per game and/or remove a bunch of suppression so they can aim-shoot.

Or, if he's in a good spot he can just pass aim tokens for a nearby unit to move/shoot, dodge/shoot or objective/shoot and still get aims.

I don't know about you guys, but I think FFG seriously dropped the ball when they named this article. It could have been:

"Maximilian Firepower!"

Missed opportunity.

I assume he still needs LOS to the target though...?

IIRC even at beyond you need LoS yes. Cover also still applies.

Kind of. Veers has sharpshooter so he reduces cover by 1.

Is there an 'order' to modding the effect of Cover, or just compute them all at once?...

... If the target unit has Heavy Cover and a Suppression token, would they still have the full effect of Heavy? (with the presence of the token offsetting Sharpshooter)

Sharpshoot in the RRG pg 40

During the “Apply Dodge and Cover” step of an attack, a unit
with the sharpshooter x keyword subtracts x from the
defender’s cover.
• When determining cover, add cover values (not exceeding
heavy cover), before subtracting cover values.
For example, a unit with heavy cover and a suppression
token that is attacked by a unit with sharpshooter 1 has
light cover.
