I think it'll be the 1 armed Wampa as Next commander.
And he has a keyword that says he enrages any time someone refers to his "Armies" - get it?!?!?! #Dadjokes

Edited by CrabbokGiven how heavily FFG has been leaning on RotJ for these early waves and the likely choice of Scout Troopers as the first Imperial Special Forces option, I think Moff Jerjerrod is the obvious choice for the next Imperial Commander.
Moff Jerjerrod was in overall command of Endor (even if we generally see him aboard the Death Star in RotJ). He's been in at least three of FFG's other games (LCG, Armada, X-Wing) so they obviously think he's important enough and recognizable enough to include in games. He has the classic Imperial officer look, which is so far lacking in this game. Plus, "We Shall Double Our Efforts" would be a perfect name for a Command card.

Lots of tricks, headstrong on his own.
Boba Fett really only cares about himself, so all his command cards should activate him with only 1 other unit at most.

A 2 figure commander unit which focuses on being as off the wall as possible whilst still being somewhat effective would be cool.
And considering they're set to show up in SOLO, they're actually canon now.
So its well within the realms of possibility.

We Shall Double Our Efforts.
3 pip
Moff Jerjerrod & 2 Troopers
Choose 1 unit you have commanded this turn which has already activated.
This unit may activate for a second time.
I’m sure Boba Fett will be in the game, and he will be Imperial, but I actually don’t think he will be a commander. I think he will be a unique support or spec ops unit. Probably see the same thing with Chewie (in my opinion anyway).

Not to be TOO pedantic.. but, I don't think Boba will be IMPERIAL, but he will be Aligned to the Dark Side. We may get some universal units, or faction less/scum but with the stipulation that Dark Side only determines who can use.

Touché.

I thought the concept was interesting and a way to keep both hands on and maintain both some semblance of plausible deniability and hide imperial association to the missions.

Well, technically, weren't they already appearing in the movies anyway...at least considering the way their comics were set up.
Mechanics-wise, the three rebel commanders largely line up with their imperial counterparts:
Vader broadly equals Luke - hard to hurt thanks to deflect, and best suited walking up to your target to poke them with a lightsaber
Leia broadly equals Veers - passing out extra actions (either by granting aim tokens or removing suppression tokens), with long range fire from an 'off-table' artillery command card
Han equals ???? - there isn't an easy 'lone gunslinger' equivalent as an Imperial Character.
I'm sure we will see thrawn (I'd imagine some sort of manoeuvre or deployment advantage?) and Krennic (as a special forces-centric commander, with death troopers), but if you wanted a natural match for han, the closest I can think of is Boba Fett.

Very poor imo if they just plump Fett as an imperial.
So much more scope for the game than shoehorning people like him as imperial.

Especially not as a leader! I do think it would be great to have imperials be able to hire him, but he should not be giving orders to imperial troops.
Han is the unorthodox commander. Uses tactics you wouldn't expect I feel.

The thing is, despite being Star Wars, the game is not an assured success. Part of the way to help it become a success is to incorporate iconic/loved characters, and quickly.
If FFG make the game and it fails, at least they could get the characters out. If it succeeds they have an option to add a new Boba card.
To sum up; get the iconic characters out first, prove the game has longevity, expand on it later.
At the very least, they put Boba in as an operative not a commander, which makes sense of sorts.
We can look at this another way as well. There are only two factions; Light Side and Dark Side. These factions can then span multiple time periods, But Boba is only availiable to the Dark Side during a certain time period - the reign of the Galactic Empire, hence part of that faction.
If that idea goes forward, we theoretically could get a character like Chewbacca that could work under multiple factions, like the rebels and resistance.

@VAYASAN Above your quote you will see my thoughts on Boba, originally posted in another thread.

Yep, I am indeed pleased he isnt an Imperial Commander. Shows a good through process at FFG imo.

If you want to cling to that truth, sure. Just remember what the ex said about being all clinging.
.....Grand General Tagge....
How about a generic commander? Imperial Commander..... "Imperial Officer"? Have them be really cheap, with basic commands. Frees up points for more troops/operatives. And avoids the game being dominated by "named" characters like in X-wing.
