Hi fellow Star Wars Destiny players. I am a casual Star Wars Destiny player and I have a question about upgrade cards that do not have a die attached to them. I was playing the two player game with my family and I played Jedi Rival. I paid the one resource cost to use it. The question that I have is, do I have to keep paying that resource cost every time that I want to use it or is it a one time deal. Thanks in advance.

The cost to play a card is just that. You only pay it when you play the card. Once the card is in play (attached to a character if an upgrade, or just in play is a support), the cost only matters when referred to by another card.

There can be a cost to use an upgrade, but it will either be a resource cost printed in a die face, or it will be listed in the effect/ability section of the card. For instance, Force Illusion's cost is to discard cards from your deck equal to the damage being blocked by it.
