ASCII characters for the Genesys dice and results

By Idward, in Genesys

I am trying to write some macros for the narrative dice system and so far I have found the following which I think would work as stand ins for the narrative dice's symbols. Has any one fond anything better?

Symbols

* Success

^ Advantage

Triumph

X Failure

Threat

Despair

Dice

Boost/Setback

Ability/Difficulty

Proficiency/Challenge

Yes I know the Proficiency/Challenge is a hexagon instead of a pentagon but I couldn't find a filled in pentagon. This way I can use color coding to change the displayed dice color.

It depends on what application you are using the macros in. If you mean using it on the FFG forums, you can use BBCode . I think that this may be affected by your browser. I was looking at this on my ipad and it didnt work, but in Chrome (Windows) it does. YMMV

It doesn't work on Chrome on Android either.

The symbol used in the book is a hexagon.

I am using a virtual tabletop called "Maptools" it will accept ASCII characters but not allow font changes. At least not that I have found. So I am trying to find symbols close to what matches.

I also use Maptools. I just use the Edge of Empire Framework. If you want you can modify the table in this framework to have the Genesys symbols.

Oh? I didn't really think about that. Though it would require a lot of customization to get it to work with Genesys, I am not really sure where to start I haven't done a framework before. I do have a roller that was coded that just rolls a d6, d8 or d12 and mapped the outputs to statuses.
