I'm sure this might be a dumb question that is easily answered by the FFG flowchart (that I do not have on hand right), but:

If a ship has Stealth Device, is attacked by TLT, and the first TLT shot his, does Stealth Device go away before the second TLT shot, or after both? I'm leaning toward after both shots, but that's just a logical gut feeling and have no idea if it's right or not.

It is "if you are hit" not "after an attack that hits," so it will go away as soon as the first volley hits.

This is the majority interpretation. For the most part, the only triggers which are pushed back to the "after attacking/defending" steps 8 and 9 are those which are specifically "after attacking/defending." That's not exclusively true, however, where Quickdraw's attack for losing shields is pushed back to step 9, despite shields being lost in step 7. Quickdraw seems more of an exception, however. Many things, such as the Harpooned! condition, can be triggered in between multiple attacks.

I will say: if FFG decided that Stealth Device should last until the after defending step, I think that wouldn't be a strange or awkward ruling, but to be clear: in order to counteract this long a tradition of interpretation on Stealth Device, it would take a full FFG FAQ entry.

Stealth Device says ..."after you are hit by an attack..." so isn't both TLT shots considered "an attack?" If it said, "..as soon as you are hit..." or
"...as soon as you take damage..." I would say it would be lost after the 1st TLT shot.

It says 'if you are hit'. Which triggers when you're hit, not afterwards.

Indeed it does.

So, how has this been ruled before? This interaction has been around for years now! Surely it’s come up in countless games...except who uses SD outside of Squints? And when was the last time anyone flew those?

now I’m sad about the Meta.

Ryad with X7, Lone Wolf and SD is a tank. Plus I run RAC with Palpatine on board. So 4 dice, with an evade token and Palp is pretty good.

Stealth Device is also a card, to some extent, for Viktor Hel, who has an interesting interaction (or not) with Twin Laser Tur--------- *dragged away by Jedi Temple Guardians before I can start that discussion again*
