That's why your imperial list is going to be a complete surprise. Much like when I show up running double ISD.

I've seen the light, @GiledPallaeon ! Please, lend me/the Rebellion 2 ISDs! I promise to only use them to beat up on Rebels who deserve to be crushed by (reads note card) Imperial night? (Is that what I wrote here? Guess so.) Those dirty Rebels will learn how stronk Imperial Star Destroyers are! Nothing can possibly defeat them! World's list after World's list will bow before 2 ISDs, the Deuce, if you will! All hail the Empire, all hail Emperor Palpations!

(Guys shut up I think it's working....)

I stole that fleet design Truthiness. Swapped a CR-90 for a Slaved Turrets scout corvette and added 2 A-wings along with Quantum Storm. It worked out pretty well. That hammerhead knocked out a GR-75 in a single turn.

Excellent. In my perpetual inability to fully settle on the list, I'm playing around with a HIE version of the Lib :D

I feel like Gunnery teams would be better. But that was just the situation I was in. Big rebel squadron ball and my opponent got really lucky one shotting an Awing early on. Also he ran a command Pelta too.

What do think?

MC80 Star Cruiser (96 points)
- Intel Officer ( 7 points)
- Caitken and Shollan ( 6 points)
- Quad Battery Turrets ( 5 points)
- XX-9 Turbolasers ( 5 points)
- Heavy Ion Emplacements ( 9 points)
= 128 total ship cost

I like the complimenting nature of the XX-9s and HIE, but the points are a bit tight. You kinda need ET if you want to maximize QBTs (you can be "slower" while still pursuing at the same pace as your target). Biggsy boy also convinced me that Mon Karren is a good choice on this. If you run into someone running a DCO (an increasingly likely prospect), you can force them to choose between bracing the dice damage or nullifying the HIE. Here's my latest version (that hasn't seen the table yet):

Name: Liberty or Death
Faction: Rebel
Commander: Admiral Raddus

Assault: Most Wanted
Defense: Hyperspace Assault
Navigation: Intel Sweep

MC80 Star Cruiser (96)
• Caitken and Shollan (6)
• Engine Techs (8)
• Heavy Ion Emplacements (9)
• Quad Battery Turrets (5)
• Mon Karren (8)
= 132 Points

CR90 Corvette A (44)
• Admiral Raddus (26)
• Engine Techs (8)
• Turbolaser Reroute Circuits (7)
• Jaina's Light (2)
= 87 Points

CR90 Corvette A (44)
• Engine Techs (8)
• Turbolaser Reroute Circuits (7)
= 59 Points

CR90 Corvette A (44)
• Engine Techs (8)
• Turbolaser Reroute Circuits (7)
= 59 Points

GR-75 Medium Transports (18)
• Comms Net (2)
= 20 Points

Squadrons:
• Shara Bey (17)
• Tycho Celchu (16)
= 33 Points

Total Points: 390

Good point on Mon Karren and DCO. I haven’t run up against that yet, but the ECMing ISDs are aplenty making the IO seem like a really strong choice to me. Also good call on the Engine Techs, will definitely be dropping the XX9s in favor of those.

Agreed, but what I was finding is IO often didn't matter all that much. My opponents were just using the first use of the brace against TRC shots. After all, if I'm first players, one of my own ships has to go before the SC on the turn it drops. Might as well use that to my benefit and manuever a TRC90 to take a solid shot. At medium range, I was consistently doing 4 damage, which meant the brace reduces it to 2. They then burn the brace against IO, thus getting 2 uses anyway. Don't get me wrong. The threat of IO ends up causing the brace to get burned, where as it probably wouldn't be without IO there. Let's math it out though just to see the benefit.

The aforementioned TRC shot gets 4 damage in and the brace isn't used because it sees the SC shot coming. A HIE shot from that SC, assuming 7-8 damage on the roll (which seems to be my average), gets braced to 4. That then gets pumped up to 7 with the HIE effect. Total damage is 11 assuming there were shields on all zones before the HIE shot. With IO, the damage on the initial shots actually goes down by two because the ship uses the brace against the TRC before the SC shot.

Now in turns going forward, this inverts. TRC and HIE continue to pump in a combined 11 assuming the brace doesn't get burned. The version with IO jumps up to 14-15 on the second turn. However, look at the net total: 22 vs 23-24. Is 1-2 points of damage over two turns worth your officer slot and 7 points? If you can afford it, sure. But 7 points is a significant bid. On the long range super laser IO is ABSOLUTELY worth it. It's built to punch through shields and annihilate a big ship all on its own. I was just finding, however, that I didn't need that. I think this HIE-team-player version gels with the over damage-overload style to the list as a whole, and IO isn't as necessary as a result.

So in conclusion all the upgrades you need is:

Star Cruiser

Sato

HIE

Mon Karren
