Zion's Finest - Episode 030 - My Brain. It Broke.
Thank you for having me! This was a ton of fun to do.
Another great episode, great insight thanks guys.
Now to the embarrassing part, I'm not familiar with Slack, can you dumb down the process of joining the channel for me? ![]()

Download Slack from your App Store, sign up, and then send an email to the guys from the podcast. I knew nothing about slack at first as well but it’s pretty easy to figure out. The conversation on Slack is great!

Also, @FrogTrigger, if you send me your email at [email protected], I will send you a link that'll work you through the process on your PC. It is super simple.
This was a great episode. I think Lucas nailed where the meta is with Empire having a slight edge and his assessment of figures (like Onar). I particularly like the language he uses when he talks about figures that have both defensive and offensive abilities and highly values that (in addition to unmitigated damage access). Man I would love to see some piggies running around again lol.

Perfect thanks, email sent!
Great episode. Really enjoyed the perspective.
@Sevenstep, based on a few of the comments you made, I have a question for you. Are you dropping a card for a Zillo block for every attack on Vader (or any figure for that matter)? Assuming of course your defense die don't block the whole attack or the attack overkills enough to make it pointless.
This has always been a concept I find myself struggling to answer. Dropping a card every time may very well mean I have no cards to play ever, but may mean a figure lives for 1 more attack. They also may end up being useless by the last attack when they overkill by 2-3+ since you'll likely be down to 1-2 health.
Congrats on the success and thanks for the insight into your mind!
Edited by wannabepudgeUnless you have dead cards I think that most of the time that you’ll want to drop cards is when it actually saves a figure from death during the attack. The other exception is if you’re expecting some other random damage during the round and want to stay above 1hp for something like Tempt or whatnot.

That is more or less where I end up landing in practice, but hearing @Sevenstep talk about it made me think that maybe I'm missing something. Which is very likely since I don't run Imps much, but he seems to be pretty comfortable currently.
Depends on the figure and the attack. The Jets and Vader make better use of pitching cards from zilo then others; Vaders because hit health is harder to remove and the Jets, because they have the option to turn it into a surge cancel if needed. I generally pitch a card a round? Probably none on round one, and as many as possible late in the game as the number of dead cards skyrockets. Some generally useful cards which are better in round 1 then later (planning, take init, maybe negation if they have already played element and take) get turned into blocks pretty regularly if I draw them at the end of round 2.
