In a friendly game my opponent put a 2x3 Daqan cav. next to the edge matt, and afther that realised that the unit is unable to leave the edge without rune wind.
jaja
weird situation Daquan Cav.
It's rare. But you might be right. They don't have a Shift action and they can't Reorganize in that situation.
A turn-move should get them clear of the edge.

Nope, your back corner would contact the edge (an obstacle) and they would stop. It would take several turn to free the unit from that collision
They can reform. Nothing says you cannot reform through an obstacle. You just can't be overlapping an obstacle after the reform. The diagrams on page 9 of the Learn to Play show this. The text in the L2P is the same as the RRG, there just aren't any diagrams in the RRG.

The premise for this is that the long edge of the unit is touching the table edge. No matter how you reform, that's still the case as the unit is a rectangle.

You reform and put your back to the edge. Next turn you march away.
Edit
I see what you mean. The center point means the back edge of the unit would be pushed off the table edge. Hmmmm.
Well unless it is flush with the board edge, even if a turn pushes the corner into the edge of the map, that partial turn will give enough of an angle that a full speed straight March the next round will pull it far away to not be a problem.
Edited by rowdyoctopusWhen you pivot a 6tray rectangle like that, if you put your back edge against the edge of the play area, half of the back tray would hang off, which is illegal. If you scooted the unit forward to not have that happen, it's an illegal reform as you didn't pivot on your center point.
In short, don't deploy with your edge touching the play area, it's just a bad idea, even with the more flexible units
Thanks

good response
We had a very similar situation in xwing playing with those capital ships. My friend deployed the tantive at the very edge of the battlefield, round one he takes a bank maneuver, rear corner goes off the map and ship is destroyed.
Edge problems not uncommon with ffg games ?
