Imperials, Sharing is Caring

By JLank, in X-Wing Squad Lists

More untested theorycrafting, looking to make the most of target lock and evade token sharing:

Quickdraw

swarm leader

LWF

FCS

Vessery

x7

Trick shot (maybe score to settle?)

Inquisitor

title

PTL

Autothrusters

Not much wiggle room to play with this build. Could drop AT off of Inq to give QD advanced optics for more modified shots but Inqy counts on those Autothrusters. QD and Inq should always have target locks to feed Vessery. Inq and Vessery should be getting frequent evades to feed QD. Critiques? Suggestions?

QUickdraw is clearly OP and soon to be nerfed. I have to admit I never thought about using Quiz to provide Vessery with the pre-target lock, I've mostly been relying on LRS Tomax in the early game and OL in the late game.

I may take inspiration from you and try this, as I've been having good results from ASTS OL lately in a 2-3 ship meta.

Small fix, but you'll want Spec Ops Training on Quickdraw. It's her 0 pt title that gives her the extra attack die or double shots.

As for the list, ASTS is great on Vessery and will get you far more benefit than trick shot. He's also the weakest ship late game and you're happy to trade him off in the early game for a high priority target. Absolutely don't give up ATs on Inqy. He is going to be your preferred closer and you want him as tough as can be. Keep him at range 3 as best you can the entire game and he is practically unstoppable. That all being said, Swarm Leader in this case is going to be a pretty weak EPT on QD in this case. You'll definitely be able to use it, but since you shoot so high up in the round, you are taking away some significant survivability from your other ships. You're probably fine taking them from Vessery, as you want him down first anyway and encouraging your opponent to sink shots into him is fine. However, Inqy wants to keep his to deter as many attacks as possible. If he gets caught up close to anything with a big gun like a Ghost, Falcon or Decimator he can go pop in the blink of an eye.

Ahh yeah I think of the title as autoinclude and forgot to list it.

Good thought on ASTS and there being some incentive to keep Vessery as an early target for your opponent.

What I was thinking with swarm leader was that you would have to spend evade tokens judiciously. Wait until Inquisitor is out of everyone’s arc and you know his won’t get used anyway for example. If they have shots on everyone, or threaten to burn QD down quickly, don’t spend them. They are waiting there acting as a deterrent from shooting at QD because he has an extra empowered revenge shot waiting.

This! Far more affordable than QD to feed Vess, and you can load up Vess to the nines. However, I would play a more defensive OL - Juke and Comm Relay has always performed well to my eyes, and is the same points.
