As per title, any suggestions for base/wash/highlight for the very dark blue areas.

Tamiya's U.S. Navy Blue works out to that color post wash. If you find my Dash Two New Guy thread, you can see a photo of my T-47 pilots. Did them in blue. Had done test runs with diff blues over different primers.

Tamiya US Navy Blue over grey or The Feng/GW over grey or black super close.

I've been playing around with it and got close I think. I used reaper midnight blue for this first set, and it's about a shade darker.

It's almost black in the harsh light. For round two I lightened midnight blue with linen white.

Crazy as it sounds, id had a couple of beers last night and got in...and as you do, sat at my painting table before I went to bed...in a flash of inspiration, I tried GW Steggadon Green (yes green) and it looked imo perfect with a wash of blue on it...its a really 'blue' green and looks more dark blue, with the wash it matches the above pi very very well imo.

Great minds think alike (even with a couple of beers)...

I was gonna suggest Vallejo Intermediate Blue with a black or dark brown wash but if you got it right then disregard

Get a color wheel. They are cheap and will allow you to figure these sorts of things out.
