Dim Carcosa

By CaffeineAddict, in Arkham Horror: The Card Game

Just tried my first play of Dim Carcosa, using Min and Yorick, and even playing on easy mode I found it brutal. Both my investigators died and I lost the campaign.

Going by the chaos bag setup at the start of the campaign, Hasturs ability that turns +/-1 and 0 tokens into auto-fail tokens actually makes easy mode the hardest to win?

This text only applies if you have no remaining sanity (and is absent from one of the possible incarnations of Hastur). Maybe you missed this.

Alas, I had no remaining sanity at the time.

Yes, my first playthrough last nigh was a loss also, Daisy and William were defeated! It's tough, indeed! I really wish the scenario setups were a little less fiddly though :/ overall great scenario, and fittingly difficult for the finale of a campaign.

Mine came down to a single token pull. There are ways to damage Hastur without attacking him directly if everyone is insane. Imo, it's probably best to do as much damage as you can before that point as it becomes clear by the end that you have to defeat him to win (at least the version of him that we got).

I found the best strategy was to travel to the palace, and discover those clues first and evade as soon as possible. Granted having Narrow Escape in hand helps a lot.
