Same rarity, less printing

By mogayht, in Star Wars: Destiny

Someone has or knows if there is a percentage of difference in the impressions of cards of the same rarity and collection?

For example: Thermal Paint was more printed than Truce.

How do you know it was printed more? I'm actually curious. I would assume they print an equal amount of every card within a rarity for a set.

I think he was asking the question rather than making the statement.

As far as I'm aware there's no publicly available information regarding print numbers of individual cards.

Anecdotally yes, this happens in my group all the time. Like, we saw a lot of Yoda but next to no Finn in all the cases my store got. Both Legendary, but good luck finding the other.

There are no numbers that I've seen though. It's not like Magic or Yugioh where there are enough consumers doing the legwork to see which cards are "short-printed".

Me and a friend have gone through about 6 boxes between us and not seen a single Yoda. Anecdotal evidence doesn't work.

We've got no idea on print numbers, FFG aren't going to tell us, and we'd need an extremely large sample size to make any kind of actually informed decision about it.

between my friends and i, we have pulled like 9 of Zeb's freakin bo staff thingie, and no more than 3 of anything else. This is between 4 people...
We've only seen 1 Tarkin period, but theres atleast 2 of every other legendary between the 4 of us. I'm the only one thats pulled Finn at all but i got 2 of him :)

It can sure feel like something got printed more than others (FREAKING ZEB STAFF ive pulled 4 of those myself) but it probably more comes down to random bad luck that the boxes that got shipped to you never had something while always seemed to have another. Personally i have never pulled Tarkin, Force Wave, or Obisaber, which is annoying as heck because i want all 3 of those and 2 are not a cheap card.

I am pretty well convinced that any "short-printing" is a community myth, at least in Destiny. It's really easy to come up with evidence using anecdotes as has already been shown in this thread. I can hardly count the number of times I've heard people complain or at least theorize about a given card being short-printed, or how they are drowning in such and such card, meanwhile I'm over here with a shortage of what they are flooded with and a wealth of what they claim was short-printed.

Based on my experience with Awakenings, there was an entire State full of people who opened half a dozen boxes apiece and never found a Bala-Tik. Because they all ended up in my packs.
