Biggest board size?

By AstroChicken, in Mansions of Madness

Just recently picked up this game and am now trying to figure out how much table space is required, as I will need to fashion some sort of makeshift gaming table for this. I remember in an old forum post someone mentioning that the biggest board they had ran into was the Innsmouth scenario, which turned out to be something like 6 x 7 squares. If you count the larger cardboard room tiles as 2 x 2 squares and the smaller ones as 2 x 1.

Without going into spoiler territory, is this about as large as the scenario boards get? How large have the bigger board layouts been for you?

I went through few scenarios (clicking through rooms without ending the Investigator phase) for this reason. I think you are right with 6 x 7, with the maps being longest horizontally with regard to the app screen. I'd leave an extra 1x1 to be sure. We now don't put the person holding the pad (we have one person run the app, another person getting called for tiles and tokens, and another person on getting the monsters, clues, etc) on the short side of a table (they sit on the longest edge so the app and map are best for them).

Thanks Phoenix_FFG. We ran the first scenario twice last weekend with two completely different layouts. Both seemed to fit on a small 90 x 55 cm (3' x 2') coffee table just fine with some space left for investigator cards. Tiles and monsters will need to stay in the boxes until they are needed though. But that's not an issue for us.
