Veers and Snowtrooper still "on the boat"

By Ken on Cape, in Star Wars: Legion

I noticed that the General Veers expansion and the Snowtrooper expansion have been showing "on the boat" since Feb. 1. Says on the same page that "on the boat" takes 4-6 weeks. Its been 9 weeks as of today.

I need more troops. whats up with the delay. I know its out of FFG hands just venting.

They'll be available for April probably.

The latest update was 2/1/18 though. So, at that time they probably were.

The upcoming page is... only mildly trustworthy at best.

I expect a preview article up in the next week, maybe two, and possibly a change to shipping shortly after that. Possibly even a release date with the preview article. I am already looking forward to having Veers so I can upgrade my Imperial troopers a bit more than I have been able to so far since Vader is so expensive. After I get my AT-ST and airspeeder, I expect my Imperial build to have even less points to spend on trooper upgrades, whereas my rebels will be nearly completely kitted out at 800.

They will probably be in before the end of April. The Upcoming page has often misled us in the past; some FFG products have gone from "At the Printer" straight to "Now Shipping". And for all we know it will be updated tomorrow or next week. That being said, FFG release windows also tend to be very... optimistic.

Well, Leia and the Fleet Troopers (which presumably would launch at the same time) are still listed as “at the printer,” aren’t they?

So really, who knows.

No, Leia and Fleet Troopers should be the following month, I'm pretty sure their article even says they'll come out in a different quarter.

I love that a day after the release FFG decides to show us Han and Commandos...that are "set" for "third quarter."

Eh, they can take their time. My wallet needs a break. And I still have plenty to paint from the core set.

That and I have so much stuff to paint and terrain to build. It will be a while before I am chomping at the bit for more releases to switch up the stale meta.

I would be shocked if they do not release with Leia and the troopers.

Well now, us Runewars players would caution you to not get too excited about regular releases and teaser articles...

... but who the **** am I kidding? The Disney license is the FFG cash cow. We'll be getting more releases than we want before long.

Not uncommon. FFG *usually* announces stuff a good ways out. Get used to knowing a bunch (but usually not all) of details well ahead of time. As an example, Star Wars Destiny sets usually have a quarter of the good stuff spoiled halfway into the previous set's release cycle, and are usually half-spoiled a few weeks out via multiple preview articles. Destiny sets are a big product, though, so they get multiple preview and teaser articles each. A closer example is Rune Wars, where usually we get to see the whole unit card (but not always -- it was months before we got to see point costs for Latari archers) and one or two upgrades in the announcement article, and then a preview article spoils all but maybe 1 upgrade.

Ditto. That said, Leia might just be lagging behind on the upcoming page. I'd expect all four sets before May is done, myself. It seems ripe for a Star Wars FFG Worlds release, if you ask me. I'd be shocked if we don't see a May 4th release that is the Snowtroopers, Veers, Leia, and Fleet Troopers for Legion, and a surprise Solo-themed mini-set for Star Wars Destiny (kind of like the 2-Player box back on Force Friday).

IIRC, leaked street dates from a spanish distributor (who gave us the original core release date) is Veers/Snow is late April and Leia is some time in May, that fits their "release a month" promise.

I expect delays for all of the expansions, or at least some. FFG is usually bad at sticking to a schedule or plan, things always get held up or whatever.

They've been indicating monthly releases for this game since it was announced. The only way they get that is by splitting things up. We'll get Veers and the Snowtroopers in late April, Leia and the Fleet Troopers in May, the terrain packs in June, Han and the Commandos in July, etc.

Also, FFG's online store is a good indication of this stuff. If you preorder from FFG directly, it only lets you combine items in an order if they will have the same release date (so FFG doesn't have to deal with holding orders or splitting them for shipping). You can make a preorder that includes both Veers and the Snowtroopers, but if you want Leia or the Fleet Troopers, that has to be a separate order because they won't share a release date.

The boat is suppressed so it can only do a single move action (after its compulsory backwards move)

Prepare to be shocked

More than likely with them being on the boat for this long is that they're stuck at Customs.

That page could be called fake progress reporting for sure. They may be waiting for Leia and Fleet Troopers to arrive for a simultaneous release, or they want to give the core and wave one a couple weeks to settle in. Either way I would put money that they are sitting in warehouses in the US as we speak.
