Nightsister Character Stats

By HistoryGuy, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

Are there any stats for the Nightsister in any sourcebook? I have a player that wants to make one. If not I had this idea:

1/3/2/2/2/2

Wound Threshold: 10+Brawn

Strain Threshold: 11+Willpower

Starting Experience: 100 XP

Special Abilities: Nightsisters begin the game with one rank in Perception. They still may not train Perception above rank 2 during character creation.

Fearsome Countenance: Nightsisters gain one automatic advantage to all Coercion Checks they make.

I am called :) !

Hmm... Well, just off the thread title, I was going to say that you should just use the stats for a Zabrak. So I think this is perfectly fine. The drop in Brawn can pay for the bump in strain threshold. I even think this might be a tad weak; perhaps give them a second skill to choose from, or even consider giving them a rank in two specific skills. I might suggest Knowledge (Lore) as the other, seeing as, if they're a Nightsister, their a member of the coven that deals the most with dark magics, so some basic training in the Mysteries would make sense.

Ok. My player wanted the Nightsister Energy Bow but I have a rule that players can't start with Restricted items unless they can explain it with their back story, and better than, "I found it in a cave." I respond with, "I find that story vague and unconvincing." So she asked if there were stats for a Nightsister and I looked through all my Sourcebooks and couldn't find anything.

My original idea i thought was too op. It was 3 in Cunning as well but dropped the starting xp to 75. Then instead of Fearsome countenance I was gonna do this:

Dark History: If the target of your Coercion check has aleast on rank in Knowledge Lore add 1 automatic success for each rank in Knowledge Lore.

I wouldn't worry about the bow, it's powerful but no so crazy as to keep a PC from starting with one. But if you are concerned just let them have it but require that they put in a number of Cr to "unlock" the Pierce and Vicious qualities. That should make it fair with the other PCs that aren't starting with a special item.

I play a character in one game that started with one. I went "Enemy Mine" with my reasoning, liberally mixing with a bit of backstory from "Arrow." Short version: my character and his father crashed on a planetoid that a Nightsister had likewise crashed on. Grudging respect established, the father died, and the Nightsister ultimately used the last of her power to help signal a passing ship so my character was rescued. Dying, she passed her bow on to the character.

To be honest, I'd say just use the Zabrak species for Nightsisters if you really want to make them different from Humans. Otherwise, just use the Human species and put their bonus non-career skill ranks into Coercion, Discipline, Perception and/or a combat skill (Melee and Ranged: Heavy being the most appropriate).
