Starting Imperial

By zWarhawk, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

So as the title says i am just starting my imperial fleet. I don't have much in the way of models just yet. So i know i won't be able to optimize my ships to what they could be. For the sets i do have they are- 1Starters, 1 Gladiator,1 ISD, 1 Raider, 1 Gozanti, Rogues/Villians, Imp Fighters I, Also have Home one, and Neb-B.

I am going to most likely be buying an MC30, and Arquitens in next couple of weeks so anythign in those i could trade out for upgrading the list also. Thanks in advance as I am still wrapping my head around list building for this game system.

Name: Untitled Fleet
Faction: Imperial
Commander: Grand Moff Tarkin

Assault:
Defense:
Navigation:

Gladiator I
• Ordnance Experts
• Rapid Reload
• Demolisher
= 78 Points

Gozanti Cruisers
• Comms Net
= 25 Points

Imperial I
• Grand Moff Tarkin
• Captain Needa
• XI7 Turbolasers
= 156 Points

Raider I
• Gunnery Team
• Expanded Launchers
= 64 Points

Squadrons:
• Mauler Mithel
• Soontir Fel
• JumpMaster 5000
• 2 x TIE Advanced Squadron
= 69 Points

Total Points: 392

Put the Expanded launchers on the Gladiator and use the ordnance experts. Don't use Gunnery team on black dice ships, it rarely worth it. And if you bring along an ISD, make it a bit more scarier :) Intel Officer, XI7, Electronic Countermeasures, so it you can use the brace.

You don't really have acces to rerolls, which helps you make the attacks more reliable, therefore I'd use Vader instead of Tarkin (who needs really specific fleet, to be worth it)

All in all, it's not a bad start, and you would find out these things yourself by playing the fleet, but it should give you a bit headstart :)

Love the squadron layout.
Defs have Intel Officer and X17 on ISD.
Raider swap Gunnery Team for Ordnance Experts, Expanded Launchers for either external racks, assault proton torpedoes or assault concussion missiles.

Thanks for the info. So i will prolly be picking up the MC30 and Hammerhead as i already wanted those sets and they will give me the things i need right now also.

This is what its looking like now.

Looks good. If you are just playing casual games, I would proxy any cards you don't have. And if you are playing in a tournament, ask to borrow.

That said, I think this fleet would like Jerjerrod more than Screed. You have rerolls on your black dice, so you should be able to get the crits you are looking for. And with the 3 points you save, you can put Boarding Troopers on the Avenger.

I agree, non boarding troopers Avenger ISD-1's rarely can get the effect out of the title simply because they have to activate early in the round when the target has green tokens before they slip out of close range.

If you are going for a non-boarding trooper ISD, the 2 or the cymoon are better options as they can set up so something wanders into their arc late in the turn after you have the chance to shoot at it with your other ships so it can use the title on those red tokens for a big hit.

If you want to go for the ISD-1, I would remove 2 ties and add howlrunner (she is so unbelievably good with more than 3 swarm squads) and boarding troopers, using the rest of the points to add to your bid and give you a little better shot at first player so you can really make those boarding troopers work for you.
