Playing through Every Single Skirmish Map and Mission

By TheWelcomeMat88, in Imperial Assault Skirmish

Hey all!

So I have for the most part stepped back from competitive skirmish the last 2 months (I've only been on Vassal 1 day, and I have been teaching the game to new players), but 1 thing I have started doing since December is playing through every skirmish map. My goal is to play through every skirmish map and then after that to go back through and play the other missions I didn't play on each map. I was just wondering if anyone would be interested in me blogging my journey through each map to give thoughts on each map (and eventually try to rank them) or if it would be a waste of time. If I get enough interest I'll start blogging through and add a link to each blog from this thread.

Wow that sounds like a long journey!

I would definitely read a blog about that. Sounds like a lot of fun!

Surely it’s practically impossible to play them all?!

I would enjoy this. I may try and do the same. I also want to make my own map soon.

I've played them all, it's not impossible. We used to hit wamprats from out T-16s all the time too.

There are some that I have really enjoyed. The Hired Guns is definitely one of my favorites that I can remember. I like the Royal Guard Champion as well.

I thought the cloud city maps were beautiful and wish there had been more play of those.

I'd definitely read about this, would be cool to theme your lists around each map as well. Obviously without over thinking it but just a tie in of sorts.

ive obviously never been big into competitive skirmish but I've played a lot just with friends and making "for fun" lists is a great time. Might be my favourite way to play IA. Who cares how it does just pick some fun combos and go.

the only drag on this is cc selection drastically slows down the process, but there are ways to house rule that and I understand it's a necessary component to drive the competitive play.

For sure I would read! Our local store has ran a few BYOM (Bring your own map) tourney's that have been pretty fun. The idea being that there wouldn't be any maps from tourney rotation. Its also fun because you can't bring a list that is good one specific maps, because you have no idea what's coming.

@FrogTrigger , sounds like you need to head to your next local store tourney haha! I mean come one, who doesn't like swag!

I'm all for it! There's not enough IA content for me to consume! (I know there's a bunch of podcasts, but I'm not crazy about the podcast format)

Are you doing the 4 player maps too?

Most definitely! I've actually already played 2 or 3 of them.

@TheWelcomeMat88 if you were planning to play these maps online, I'd love to be an occasional guest opponent.

That could definitely happen!

I'll throw my hat in as well! I would love to try new different maps!
