Two MSU builds for casual play

By Do I need a Username, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

So Regionals here just finished, and now I find myself wanting to play something completely different, hence these builds:

Name: Sato's Hammer
Faction: Rebel
Commander: Commander Sato

Assault: Most Wanted
Defense: Planetary Ion Cannon
Navigation: Solar Corona

Hammerhead Torpedo Corvette (36)
• Commander Sato (32)

Squadrons:
• 4 x E-wing Squadron (60)
• 2 x HWK-290 (24)
= 84 Points

Total Points: 398

This fleet wants to jump in the squads, then pound you with APTs from the hammerheads, ideally stripping tokens with intel officer (because I can't roll accuracies at all).

Then I made two screed fleets because I was bored:

Name: Screed's Raiders
Faction: Imperial
Commander: Admiral Screed

Assault: Precision Strike
Defense: Hyperspace Assault
Navigation: Superior Positions

Raider II (48)
• Disposable Capacitors (3)
• Heavy Ion Emplacements (9)
= 60 Points

• Disposable Capacitors (3)
• Heavy Ion Emplacements (9)
= 60 Points

Raider I (44)
• Intel Officer (7)
• Fire-Control Team (2)
• Assault Concussion Missiles (7)
= 60 Points

Arquitens Light Cruiser (54)
• Admiral Screed (26)
• Admiral Montferrat (5)
• Dual Turbolaser Turrets (5)
= 90 Points

Arquitens Light Cruiser (54)
• Dual Turbolaser Turrets (5)

Squadrons:

Total Points: 389

And with Victories!

Gozanti Cruisers (23)
• Comms Net (2)

Squadrons:
• Ciena Ree (17)
• Valen Rudor (13)
• Lambda Shuttle (15)
= 45 Points

Total Points: 393

I think that in both the first and second fleet the corvettes are too heavily loaded. You have a lot of points into ships that die pretty easily. You don't really need the Intel Officers in an MSU fleet because you should be overwhelming their defense tokens anyway. Also, I would be apprehensive about putting Sato on a Hammerhead. Try to find the points to add a CR-90A.

Okay, dropped all officers for a CR-90 B with Jaina's and Sato, as well as sapping 2 E-wings for 2 A-wings. As for the Screed Fleet I have dropped the intel officers for a bid. What do you think of as to many points for a corvette though? Isn't 60 fairly cheap, or am I in a weird meta?

60 points is the absolute maximum that I would put into a Raider. And then it would only be for the Raider II like you have, with Disposable Capacitors and Heavy Ion Emplacement. For a Raider I, I usually stick to Expanded Racks and maybe Ordnance Experts. They usually only get one shot at close range anyway.

I usually run the Hammerheads with External Racks and Task Force Organa, for the same reason as the Raider I. But I can see why you are running APTs and Disposable Capacitors with Sato. You could lighten these even more if you switch to Task Force Organa and drop the Ordnance Experts.

Here's my thinking with Hamerheads: if I can keep them to 40 points, then I can trade 3 of them for an ISD and come out ahead.

The only other suggestion that I would make for your Sato fleet is to try to upgrade two A-Wings to Shara Bey and Tycho. Shara is great at tying up squadrons and she will last longer than a generic A-Wing, and Tycho is great for spotting for Sato (as are your HWKs).
