Anyone do know of a way to protect the various tokens? Maybe coating them in clear fingernail polish or spraying them in a clear varnish?

Paint the edges. It's the weakest part of the cardboard.
I purchased some 35mm coin protectors.
If not already, there should be acrylic ones available soon on Etsy.

That’s the route I’ll be going. I’m sure TeamCovenant will be selling some.
Looks like Curled Paw does some acrylics already

Thanks, I like the idea of the acrylic for sure

Ordered. Great price, good work. Too good to pass up.
I’ve had good success using a sharpie on the edges and then using my matte varnish on tokens. A satin might actually be better, as it would protect them more. Regardless, far from the near indistructability of acrylics but it’s far better than doing nothing.
Multiple coats of cheap, dollar store, unscented hairspray.....works for lead/coal/graphite drawings, too

Those are a bit aesthetically busy looking, big meh from me...
Ill be getting some 35mm coin capsules for the order tokens, and use red D12 dice instead of wound tokens.
Then ill see what is available later on for the rest of the tokens.
For the expert at this ...
would a thinned mix of water/PVA work?

Which always ends up being rolled or rolled into.
Spray on lacquer works great. Can paint the edges of the tokens with acrylic.

This is true, which is why im also thinking of getting a good dice tray
tbh, i much rather the accidental bump of a wound die then ruining the entire battlefield with ugly tokens. Its enough with orders aim dodge and standby, the woundtokens are just unnessecary imo.
I was just planning on putting the wound tokens on the cards. Like x wing
I'm definitely putting would tokens, vehicle damaged etc. on the cards.

Yeah I would do this as well but at the same time I want important information to be visible for both players at a glance which is why I usually mark damage and wounds on the tabletop.
But I might end up marking it on the cards as well, anything to keep the table as clean as possible without confusing anything or anyone

if this is anything like x-wing you will have 200 million of each token.....
That being said if you are really concerned i am sure a bunch of 3rd party acrylic tokens will be available. When i get around to it i know i will cut a bunch with my laser.

On the cards is still at a glance, x-wing is all on the cards and its really very easy to look over at the cards. On the side of the board. It also helps keep the play area cleaner.

As opposed to xw though legion will have a table full of terrain and a lot more units/cards.
Would satin polyeurothane work for preserving the cardboard? I’ve got a can of that on hand.

Try it on some of the leftover cardboard that's left after you've punched out all the tokens. It's going in the bin anyway; make good use of it.
