I said in another thread, the big thing for the organized rules I think is going to be terrain, since cover is so important.

How many piece of terrain can each person bring?

How big can each piece be? Am I limited to just the barriers from the core, or can I bring a couple of buildings?

How is terrain placement going to work?

Oh I agree but...you won' even have to worry about barrels and crates if you are disqualified cus your minis are illegal.

Paint the Death Troopers white. ;)

I think the question is more... will Death troopers be the same model with E-11 Blasters? I think they will be different models and should be equipped with E-11D blasters. Visually I think they would be different enough that even if you painted your Stormies black it would not be confusing. But we haven't seen any death trooper models yet.

If I had to look carefully at your (probably black-painted, against black armor) weapons to differentiate your two squads, I'd probably be a grumpy opponent.

It’s going to be hard to differentiate squads of black Stormtroopers / Deathtroopers at playing distance if weapons / poses are what sets them apart

Yeah. In casual play I wouldn’t care at all but in an OP setting I wouldn’t want to have to think “was it the black Troopers with white bases that are actually Stormtroopers?” throughout the match.

I think it should be fine until they actually release deathtroopers. It might be a null point if ffg decides that release black (unpainted ) miniatures would caution too much confusion and decide against it. In which case those black storm troopers are just black storm troopers.

If a player gets penalized for painting their miniatures non cannon. But the guy with pink troopers or yellow troopers is fine, it might be more ttouble than not making deathtroopers or making them with vastly different weapons and armor that you would be able to easily tell them apart
