Lah'mu: Board and Painted Rebel Army

By Big Easy, in Painting

This thread will document my Lah'mu board build and Rebel army, whom I've designated Santhar Company.

Above: Construction of the mat. Black caulk spread on canvas mat, then topped with used coffee grounds stuck down with PVA. I used a sprinkling method that has not been entirely satisfactory due to shedding. I am considering redoing it with a much smoother surface that will take a bit more time.

Above: Photos from our launch day game with most of the terrain visible. Lah'mu is fairly flat or mountainous and largely unsettled, though there are some rocky outcrops covered in rich green grass and of course the Erso farmstead.

Above: The mountain is a WIP, going to match the grass color and base it . I'm also working on a flat grassy terrain piece.

Above: The centerpiece, the Erso home. An effective trench with a single entrance, though you can "rush" the trench by making a move through difficult terrain. Even when both forces are in the trench, the dome makes for interesting blocking terrain and the narrow width of the trench makes its own interesting scenarios.

Above: Santhar One squad. I went with dark brown solid uniforms with light green highlights, and a minimal amount of mismatching (camo pants on the aiming trooper, blue jacket on Youngblood, green rain gear on Corliss).

I have plans for the grass...the final piece of the board for me :) . Can't wait for Krennic and his deathtroopers (and maybe Jyn?) to be released to give them what they deserve.

I love the trench in the middle so much! It could be just me, im a sucker for charging trenches with stormies. I like your paint scheme too. I mights steal it

Thanks! Steal away...the more people have this theme, the more boards my basing matches with!

Out of interest how well does the board play. Eg, does the terrain make for interesting gameplay? How does it react to vehicles? Gameplay wise

I've only played once, and it was breakthrough with major offensive. Made for an instant clash right on the bunker, so much of the terrain wasn't even near the action.

I'm working on tall grass and I also have a large wall that is about 9" long and high enough to provide cover to an AT-ST.
