now that the Sheathe is out, can we buff the ARC?

And at 33 points she can be your 3rd best ship in many cases, taking heat off for other late game aces. She has every move available on her dial every round with decent rerolls.

33 point Norra is a good place for her. I do the VI/Rey/FFA version myself, I like the PS9 move and engage. But yea, wired/hera is a pretty cool option too. Me likey

A list with an ARC won our 30 person regionals 2 weekends ago crushing many shuttle lists.

Oh god. That Shara Bey would be insane with M9-G8 and Weapons Engineer. Permanent Predator on all ships in your squad, plus you're rerolling their dice. It'd be a mother and child reunion for me, with Poe (probably have to scrimp on PS) and Fenn (rerolls on their attack dice so much stronger with Fenn).

But then, she loses the ability to help people launch torps/missiles.

Anyhow, I think ARCs are probably mostly fine.

you never know when FFG will get it right for once, but I agree that fixes in general and Saw's are probably not going to skyrocket Xs and Us to competitive status while turrets continue to reign supreme (though the Viper mk3 is really close, if only they didn't curbstomp Xizor with the same box that tried to fix him)

speaking of, I don't know how everyone is having so much success with non-r2d2 Norras. I mean, good on you and all, but mine would just get obliterated by the presence of a turret in every game I have to suffer through

If I'm putting double ARCs back on the table, it'd probably be to try

Unnamed Squadron (100)
Thane Kyrell — ARC-170 26, Weapons Engineer 3, M9-G8 3, Title [Ship Total: 32]
Norra Wexley — ARC-170 29, Push the Limit 3, C-3PO 3, R2-D2 4, Vectored Thrusters 2, Title [Ship Total: 41]
Fenn Rau (Sheathipede) — Sheathipede-class Shuttle 20, Veteran Instincts 1, Hotshot Co-pilot 4, R3-A2 2 [Ship Total: 27]

and then lament how Thane can't use his ability when he's the target of attack...and to lament that he's not Lowhrick :(

I can't say enough good things about WE/M9-G8 on an ARC. I've been running Braylen/Fenn/Poe and it feels really good.

Is Fenn the problem or is HotCop the problem? Usually when I see people complain about him it's because he has HotCop, sometimes even with R3A2 which negates his pilot ability. If his pilot ability isn't the issue, I submit that HotCop is.

it's more his ability, r3-a2 to cover expertise, ps 11 coordinate, AND hotshot

Perhaps but you can't do all of those things at once. If you're stressed you can't use his ability or do a coordinate action. If you're not stressed at the start of combat but use r3a2 early because you're ps11 then you can't use his ability, and if you decide to skip using r3a2 so that you can use his ability then you've given up a chance to stress your opponent. Yeah you could stress then de-stress every turn by taking only one stress at a time and being clever with your manoeuvring, but that limits r3a2's effectiveness and as soon as you get stressed enough his ability and coordinate action are basically gone. The only constant problem is hotcop.

He only uses r3-a2 if he faces a ship with Expertise (his counter), or can double stress a ship like Inquisitor, or enemy has no tokens to proc his ability.

Like the jumpmaster, Fenn is not just a single upgrade type of problem. Its the combo of PS9 w/ ept slot, astromech letting him always have arc (flight assist) or shutdown his counter (expertise) with r3a2, plus a crew slot, plus ps11 coordinate, plus dual arcs. Its not doing them all at once, just like a jumpmaster doesnt have to sloop all the time, or barrel roll all the time, but having EVERYTHING available with the right combinations is the problem.

The Sheathipede class shuttle.

the real question is WHY's that?

I have no idea what the **** a Sheathipede actually is.

Apparently the ship is actually called a " Neimoidian escort shuttle" but I guess no one wants to bring up the prequels unless it's from the Clone Wars cartoon. The prequels are basically Star War's Voldemort

anyway, it's almost a carbon copy of the ARC: a small base with a rear-facing auxilary arc and an astromech + crew combination (and a very similar dial). Difference being is it has less health and lesser offense, but is a lot cheaper, comes equipped with far more generally useful pilot abilities, and the coordinate action. It serves as a better platform for basically any non-norra configuration of the ARC

Ah, thanks. Sheathipede? What a weird name.
