Any speculation on who will be the 3rd imperial commander will be?

I know boba fett isnt imperial but i but I am really hoping he is the counter release for Han.

Not sure what specialists would go with fett though.

Scout Troopers are probably the most likely choice for Special forces based on dev statements and the rebels getting Endor troops. But there's not a good commander for them- The commanding officer at Endor's most memorable moment is shouting at Han before taking a toolkit to the chest and falling to his death. Perhaps Tarkin, since he doesn't have a troop unit associated with him (Krennic has death troopers, Palpatine has Royal Guards).

Orson Krennic and Death Troopers.

Commander Igar or General Veers would be my guess.

It's really hard to find some trooper leaders. Most known persons are ship commanders.

Thrawn and Scout Troopers.

Iden Versio with Imperial Commandos?

Boba Fett with Scout Troopers?

Piett with TIE Pilots?

Veers has been announced as the next release along with snow troopers for quite some time.

@ninclouse2000 They are coming eventually. Actually I think we will get scout troopers next, but I would prefer Death Troopers.

Commander... unclear. Thrawn is good with Rebels just wrapping up and a novel about him coming out even if he isn't "on the big screen". Fett is in RoTJ, but I don't think he'd mirror Han as exactly as other commanders kind of "mirror" like in terms of upgrades and the like, or similar keywords. Also I don't want FFG to rush to Boba and then have to reprint/sell him later if they do a seperate scum/mercenaries faction. Actually, loads of middle-tier imperial commanders from Rebels would work. That show ended up using Scout Troopers a lot since like, the second season.

We can dream.. I do expect ffg to release them at some point. The emperor has to be like 300 points though lol

Blaise the Imp Assault ISB agent is already wearing scout armor; he'd be a good choice.

This explain a lot. I thought it was Weiss that they announced, and was wondering why they bring him out as pilot and commander.

In this case my guess would be Igar. Even when he is not really known enough, compared to Motti, Ozzel, Tarkin and all the other Fleet Admirals.

Scout Troopers seems like a logical choice next to rebel commandos, yet it might be hard to choose the commander that works well with them. The most fitting choices are not the best known commanders, and some of them are not even cannon If it would be further down he game's life I'd put my money on Kallus or some IA character like Kayn Somos, Agent Blaise, General Sorin, Captain Terro. But right now I believe The Grand Inquisitor might be the right pick.

Or they just give us Krennic and Death Troopers.

By all means have some mercenary units but the empire would not hand over control of their armies to a merc.

Yeah, I said this in another topic. Boba Fett as a commander makes no sense. Make him a unique special forces unit instead (or maybe at a push you could have him as a commander with some keyword meaning you have to also take another, actually Imperial commander).
