I still can’t believe out of all the Imperial character they gave us Veers. Not Tarkin. Really?

Next up, Admiral Ozzel!

Since when does Tarkin sully himself with ground operations?

Even in “Tarkin” he let Vader do most of the Work.

ISB agents and maybe an Inquisitor? Grand Inquisitor?

I'm down for Tremayne:

By that logic, we will never see Palpatine and any other character that only ever ran things from a ship.

0 problems with that to me.

HOWEVER As has been established - Palpatine has “get hands dirty” credentials.

As has Thrawn.

But Ozzel and Piett and Needa?

They had Darth Vader and General Veers to do that work for them.

Favorite Empire at War mission.

dewbacks/tauntauns could simply just be Troopers that "Count as vehicles for vertical movement"

Both saves making a unique unit type that probably wont get used more than 1-2 more times in the entire life of this game and solves the "wtf do they have vehicle rules for?" // "why...can they climb?" issues.

I’ll throw my 2 cents in and go with dismounted scouts and Commander Igar, the guy that handed over Luke on Endor. He could have an ability to hinder the scout move and a command card that forces The opponent to go first as a counter point to Han’s card.

I think base size is more the issue atm.

I hear you on that, Shadow. It is not enough to pay 60 bucks and play a whole game anymore, hasn't been that way in a while.

It's less that and more of the entire mess that made the news and other things. There is also the part of the mess about the EA games being inferior in almost every way to the original battlefront games...

With everything, it'll probably be a long time before FFG wants to get mixed up in that mess unless there is some possibility for a joint promotion or the like, but even that would be a PR disaster

Personally, I'd love to see Valin Draco pop up again, it would help pull in players who still aren't as happy about the end of the WotC era.

They've already spoiled Iden Versio as a pilot in x-wing 2.0, so I can see her and Inferno squad as the next thing. That or Krennic and his Death Troopers.

I really *really* don't want to see Palpatine in Legion.

As much as Thrawn would irk me too, (Admirals shouldn't be deploying on the ground into an active combat zone) I still am a huge fan of Thrawn and would probably run him anyway.

I don't really see why the empire would need a "commando" equivalent. They probably should have more of a brute unit, something that carries deployable heavy weapons. The empire is "the good guys", the law, they don't need infiltration (I know it's a lie, but I speak in movie sense)

Inferno squad were imperial commandos, and they are a small enough group that they could work as a single unit.

Actually the Commandos are more mirroring the Snowtroopers.

Standard Infantry: Stormtroopers - Rebel Troopers

Special Infantry: Snowtroopers - Rebel Commandos

Light Infantry: ? - Fleet Troopers

So, I'd say the most likely are Scout Troopers or Imperial Navy Troopers.
If the Scouts are more like Special Infantry I have a great hope that Imperial Army troops would be the Empires light Infantry.

the release schedule for this game is terrible.
We will have 1 and half months (at least) where Imperials have more choices than Rebels and THEN we may have 3-6 months where Rebels have more options than Imperials.
Not balanced and I am regretting my investment in this game.

Are you sure?

For me it's:

Standard Infantry: Stormtroopers - Rebel Troopers

Short Range Infantry: Snowtroopers - Fleet Troopers

Special Infantry: ? - Rebel Commandos

I can imagine unmounted scouts with an e-web as a two minis heavy weapon.

They’re showing a pretty strong commitment to the original trilogy with this first wave. As cool as it would be to see someone like Thrawn or Tremayne, I suspect it’s going to be a character and unit from 4-6.

E-web would be awesome... similar to IA can't move and shoot same activation but when it opens fire it throws the kitchen sink at them....

True, but AT-RTs were not in episode 4-6, so we could see outside sources in exchange for a more balance game.

What would an imperial sniper have that is better than a DLT?

E-Web

Squads of 2 like the rebel commandos, except these would have a range 4, 4 black dice, surge to hit gun? Something like that.

Good point. Rebels don’t really have any combat vehicles that aren’t aircraft in 4-6.

Technically...

I think they chose units that were more in the theme of the first trilogy.

Original movie didn't have much ground combat, but had a small spaceship assault -> Fleet troopers.
second movie had a sense of the rebels being massively outmatched and on the run. -> More fragile and lesser range overall, outmatched in direct combat.
Third movie was all about harassment -> Rebs need to hit and run (speeders) and stay in cover all the time.

Well, we did get Weiss for the AT-ST...
