Great idea!
Woah, I love that paint job. What base colors did you use for the pants, shirt, and gloves? Also what washes did you use if you don't mind?
Did you use a different base for your "Rex"? That base looks less tall than the standard issue ones.
Thanks folks!
Bases: I used indeed different bases, still 25mm but not as thick, the bases in the core box look too much like a cone to me.
I used these: https://shop.battlefield-berlin.de/katalog/artikelinfo/4326/25mm-rundbase-_o-schlitz_-_10
They are even thinner than GW bases.
Paintjob:
I am using mostly Citadel and Vallejo these days.
Trouser: steel legion drab mixed with waagh flesh, some camo dots with waagh green and mixed in white
Shirt: Vallejo 70821 German DAK, undershirt with mixed in white
Rucksack: Vallejo 921English uniform
Gloves: Citadel Averland sunset
Helmet: citadel stegadon green
Gun: Citadel Leadbelcher
Then a good wash of citadel agrax earthshade
After that the above colours again, sometimes with white mixed in.
More or less 1,5 h.
Painting techniques more or less as Sorastros excellent paint channel.

Hate to break out to you but the bottom of the bases are 27
I have been viewing your work for so long now, and it just keeps getting better. That is saying a lot.
Thanks for the recipe and the pics.
Cheers

Meaning, technically these base swaps would be illegal. In most situations, the 2mm difference won't matter, but in some games those couple of mm's will result in something being just barely in range that should have been out of range.
Range works both ways. Would you really care if someone was measuring range with a 2 mm smaller base? They will be measuring from that same range when they want to fire back at you.
Agis what brand and color of Tufts are those on the bases? I've been trying to find the right match for my Agrellan Earth texture paint.

Doesn't really matter in a tournament. The bases need to be official.
There are, technically, fringe cases where it would affect displacement/melee/force pushing. Casual players won't likely care though. Love the paint job.

I missed that in the Rules Reference. What page is that on?
I'll be having fun playing the game and admiring the gorgeous paint jobs. You can measure peoples' custom bases with a caliper to make sure they're official. Enjoy! ![]()
Base size – Honestly folks I could NOT care less.
I will not play in any tournaments and the bases I used look just better to me. The cones are really ugly IMO, if they were 30mm it might be OK, but as they are – no way. So amen to stackeffect comment.
brand and color of Tufts – Sorry no clue, I got the for years and I have forgotten what company it was.
