FAQ drop before worlds confirmed

The key to take away from this I feel is that flotillas are on the big screen.

Additionaly they have more on screen time then a lot of other ships and fighters.

To me that means they are part of the overall theme.

They are troop transporters, fleet tenders, the complete and utter opposite of what you want around when the big boys show up and start unleashing ****.

No one ever said they weren't around, we are saying the actual impact they have in battles is a big fat zilch, in Armada they are one of the hardest ships to destroy ....Movie an ISD would kill one in an instant, game..no accuracy? lolzx @ you ISD.

Fighters on a stand? 1, 2 , 3.....3!?

The number of fighters on a stand representing how many actual fighters were dark days.

Lets not return to them.

I remember those days as well. What I posted was a joke because of the extensive debate, hence the smile face. ?

We have seen Flotillas and flotilla-scale ships fired upon a few times now in Rogue One and The Last Jedi. Even at extreme range, it has yet to end well for the flotilla. In R1, a single glancing ram annihilates a flotilla outright. In TLJ, several flotilla transports are targeted and destroyed at extreme range with ease, despite having significantly more maneuverability than the larger fleet ships.

In Armada, they are generally completely unscathed in many cases especially when dealing with ships that cannot easily guarantee accuracy results (or cannot without a severe reduction in firepower, such as Sensor Team GSD2). Changing the way flotillas negate damage will make "empty" flotillas a greater liability for most fleets.

How about Flotillas having a hull value of X+1 (y) where x is the amount of upgrades purchased/used at the start of the game and y is the max hull it can have

so a naked flotilla only has 1 hull but one with an officer and bomber command has 3

What if we fundamentally changed how distinct components worked in game to address a minor concern that a few people have?

Can we all calm down a minute here and realize as was pointed out like 3 pages ago that FFG has already made these changes and we're all just spiraling as we wait for their announcements?

Now where is the fun in that.

sooooo.... where is this confirmed faq drop before world? How much before worlds?

I've stopped playing. Its pretty obvious that large ships, mass squadrons and activation control are the go-to high percentage choice. (Ha, you wish I said unbeatable.)

One mans obvious is another mans oblivious

Right before. So people have minimal time to prepare.

So now you hate large ships, not just squads?

Relatedly, massed squadrons have taken massive dip around here. They are still taken, and a Yavaris fleet did well at my Regionals, but mostly it's Raddus stomping everyone.

That's interesting. I would have thought mass squads would be good counterplay to Raddus. Give that big ship little space to deploy near you.

It works. But you need a lot of squads for this, and you have to hold them back a bit too.

It would SEEM like mass squads should do well, but a lot of folks want to Alpha with a Sloane fleet. Patient players could do well holding back until Radish drop then grabbing new ship's brace.....

Then they cry as Aspiration/Lando laughs at lack of a brace :D

Honestly, I think the bigger issue for the squad fleets is EWS on the drop ship. Means that the squads have to move and shoot instead of getting a squad phase shot at the newly placed ship.

Wait, I guess the new ship wouldn't have the chaf token until ship phase next round.....I don't care. I'm still playing Sloane in this big ship extravaganza.... :P

Ship drops at Start of Round. So totally gets a chaff token.

Cool, then my point makes sense again. EWS/Aspirtation/Lando and a big middle finger to just about any fleet...lol

Because photoshop is fun!

This thought isn't helpful, but as long as we're sounding off, again....

I'm ok with flotillas in general, but try not to use them because I feel they are too easy of an answer and I like exploring options.

One thought that would be interesting for future waves/updates is make each unit of the same type cost increasingly more than the last.

First flotilla naked costs 17, second costs 19, third costs 22, fourth is 26.... Same could be used with other small base ships.

I always thought that would encourage diversity without preventing spam if someone has a fun idea. That probably wouldn't boost sales of multiple packs, however.

If I kill one Flotilla out of 4, say, the last one added, do I score 17 or 26?

Whatever benefits me specifically, even if I'm not playing in your game.

Man, Armada: Community Edition is going to SUCK for you, once the game is dead and I’m writing it ??

Not me, I have at least 20 waves of expansions waiting in the wings, thanks to Mel, and KDY. I've got all the rest of my life to get them playtested. Armada will never die for me! ;)

Does Armada Community Edition give me victory points for playing paintball or watching Troy and Abed in the morning?

I hope you would understand this. But in case it’s not clear I dislike whenever it’s easily obvious that ANY thing is too clearly strong and also backed up by data for being a much higher win rate than it should be. Last time I checked mass squads were 56% of the winners. Compared to being taken only 19% of the time. The numbers are there. There are numerous forum members who have also noted the strength of large ships and the diminished strength of small ship MSU not including squads and flots

Ive said it before if squads one day became useless I would champion for them. I guess you just think I hate squads and now I hate large ships. Sheesh.

I hate freewill and fun

You mention 3 archtypes here. Is this "not enough"? I'm confused. How many different "equal" archtypes would you be happy with? And honestly, if one didn't get more powerful than the other, wouldn't we just be playing Armada Yahtzee, hoping for a 5 of a kind to win? I personally like having something to target. The part of the game that is most enjoyable to me is the building to beat X aspect.

A list of things about armada you hate that we can pin to the forums would be helpful....as a reference at least.... :D
