Not the local bulk cruisers mind you.

Yeah except ISDs are a Kauti design not a Corellian one. And how would Han know where the Star Destroyer he outran was from unless the shipyards were using designs distinct enought to be separated either visually or by sensors into distinct models?

Read the rest of my comments of this thread. My statement makes sense if the things i mentioned previously are assumed to be the case.

Interestingly, the idea that the warships in ANH were Corellian, was established long before the existence of Kuat was - back in 1978:

STAR WARS: OFFICIAL POSTER MONTHLY #13
Published October 1978

scroll to the right-hand side - and you'll see it described as "triangular-shaped Corellian cruiser".

So originally the ISDs were Corellian then for some reason someone decided they were.

Perhaps just Cr80s and Cr90s

The 'big Corellian ships' are probably not ISDs, which are unlikely to have been used as anti-smuggling/piracy vessels . Also, Han couldn't outrun the ISD while he boasts he could outrun the 'big corellian ships'.

Instead most important planets would have their own security fleet for anti-pirating and anti-smuggling duties, consisting of non-imperial navy ships. It's implied some of these ships at least would be of Corellian make, Corellia being one of the major ship manufacturers for civilian ships. There are many fan-designed Corellian ships around, mostly they build on the CR-90 aesthetic but bigger and bulkier. For example the CB-890-class Battlecruiser and others.

Hyperspace counts:

"Well, you can forget about those Imperial slugs. I told you I'd outrun them."

I took that as just a 'saving face' remark, considering there is no hyperspace tracking (until Snoke at least) so one would pretty much always escape from a pursuer once in hyperspace.

There is... plenty of Hyperspace tracking before Snoke...

Heck it was featured on Tebels with the Thread Tracers so much that they had to detach their shuttle, which had no hyperdrive, while in Hyperspace...

Its even in rogue one..... as they are going through the records they mention darksabre , hyperspace tracking before getting to stardust

Yes those are all secret projects.

took them like 36 years to build a working device.

Dude. Rebels. THREAD TRACERS. Totally work already ?

do you want me to explain the difference between a device that sends a signal to a receiver indicating location and a bunch of supercomputers operating at massive speeds doing brunt force calculations so you know where a ship is jumping to as it jumps or can you understand the strategic and tactical difference yourself?

Uhm...

Not to heap on, but I think it was also featured in this little movie called A New Hope , where Tarkin puts a tracer on the Millennium Falcon.

But, I suppose that the actual tracking might not have necessarily been while the Falcon was 'in' hyperspace.

I’m sorry, I thought you said it was impossible to track through Hyperspace until Snoke,

You made no mention of the method.

if if you want to shift goal posts after the fact, go for it.

Just admit that’s what you are doing ?

Whats a CR80?

Oooh id love to see a new variant of the cr90 as a CR85 ^_^

A fighter carrier variant with sqd2 and a freighter variant with lowered armament for an extra hull point and a fleet support slot :)

Im all for new variants of cr90 lol. Sorry for derailing the thread a bit...

Thread was derailed quite a while back but I don't mind. I should have titled this: Can the big Corellian ships be tracked through hyperspace?.?

no, the people in TLJ said it was impossible.

by which they mean the FO must have jumped to light speed right after they did having predicted their destination.

placing trackers aboard a ship and seeing what places it goes to has been done since EP IV, Rebels takes place even before that.

trackers and HYPERSPACE TRACKING are not the same thing.

This topic is full of very informed and well balanced insights, and a pleasure to read. I am comfortable with Corellia getting a license to build Kuat's designed ships...or maybe it just built and/or installed engine components for the ISD programne? I also like Mikael's suggestion it was a boast, a half-truth.

I imagine that organisations which are legends now like the CDF ( Correlian defense force) still exist.

so similar to how Mon cala was at first part of the empire yet maintained it's own military and how some planetary governers of the empire where local kings.

so there might be big correlian ships.... what they are? idk.

Night caller and other such CR-90's in the employ of Zjins' domain in legends were built with the forward hold and the luxury quarters beneath the bridge ( and above the hold) containing a hangar instead. it looks nearly identical to a normal CR90 except for the modifications to the forward hold. but the subtype does not have an official designation to set it apart from standard CR90's

near the end of wraith squadron, after the wraiths had taken over the night caller, they open the front cargo doors and shoot torpedoes from the X-wings within.to destroy another ship.

they also replaced some escape pods with tie fighters for rapid deployment.

this is them.

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Constrictor

nearly forgot they also removed one of the dual turbolaser turrets and added a big tractor beam instead.

they were also about the size of a nebulon-B, going by the described size relative to X-wings and TIE fighters.
