Proton Charge Saboteur

By Kojib, in Star Wars: Legion

Pure speculation at this point, but this model has me so so hyped. The idea that you have scout two to start with, and can sprint into the map and place charges gives you so much map control.

Placing them in:

-choke points,

-areas you maybe flanked

-close to barricades

-alleyways or space between buildings

Their strength will totally depend on the amount of terrain on the map, and impassable terrain too, but just the concept of them has me giddy. Just ruling out areas of movement for the enemy unless they wanna suffer severe casualties. A real problem for units with a compulsory move too when countering speeders.

I can see myself bringing 2, 2 man specialist squads of Proton Charge Saboteurs in future lists...

I'm definitely interested. Really though, I rocked the heck out of snipers back when I played Flames of War, and I expect to throw some in here as well.

Shame you can have only so many Spec Ops squads in a list.

I can't get excited until I have more information.

I mean, I've been hyped since I saw the Minefield condition, playing around with "hostile terrain" in that way is great for me.

Plus throwing detpacks proton charges brings me ever closer to my dream of being able to recreate Battlefront II (OG) on the table top. But, before I comment on actual tactics I want to get all the keywords. It has a couple new ones on it.

Minefield condition + Proton Charge Saboteurs = why this game has potential to be my favorite game ever.

Place it on top of objectives

Ahah then leave it and just laugh at those stories who run in to take it

Imagine if we get imperial demolitions as well. You get a bomb and you get a bomb and you get a bomb! EVERYBODY GETS A BOMB!!!!

This is clearly the hope of anyone wanting to use them. Regardless of how dense the terrain is or isn't, you know that objective is always going to be there, and "someone" has to control it...

If you can't have it, neither can they!

Really stoked about this unit!

Depending on the rules, the Commando with the det packs may have to be on the table still for them to trigger, so it may just make them more of a target than they are already.

... orrrr the charges detonate upon his demise. Super hyped for more info on this expansion.

I thought you were waiting for Ewoks to become an army faction before you started playing.

Or was that you are waiting for your Ewok to become a Wookie before he started playing. :P

He's already strong enough to pull the ears off of a Gundark.
