Got it on Thursday, have since played something like four games, and love every minute of it. It’s tactical, it’s strategic, it’s dramatic, it’s streamlined, it’s Star Wars. This is my favorite game since Wave 3 of X-Wing. The hype was real, and the game was worth the hype! LEGIONNNNN!
THIS GAME IS FREAKIN AWESOME!
Played a demo game with my LGS. I have to say, I'm pretty impressed with the game's flow so far. It's pretty fast paced.
Edited by DeathseedWas at my LGS for opening weekend events all day. Saw a number of folks play demo games ... walk over to the shelves displaying the game, which was right where I was seated painting ... debate "getting into another game" ... then, pull the trigger on a WHOLE bunch of stuff.

It is really great! Happy to see so much positive feedback!
A few of us spent today playing the challenge games... In between evangelizing. ![]()
I only bought it coz the gameplay looked solid, but now I am njoying hobbying and painting SW minis again, 28 storm troopers Undercoated, base coated and shaded today....
Now for highlighting and basing tomorrow... white is a paint in the *** to clean up.
Spent all day playing challenge games. Spent all evening punching tokens, sleeving cards and painting a T-47. It has been a good day.

They have individual games ... Luke v Vader; T-47 v AT-ST; AT-RT v Speeder Bikes and, then, demo games were last man standing. Finally, there was a final game, locally, determining Imp or Rebel store
I lost, as the Rebels. This was my 2nd time playing and 4th total war game. Ever. Finding my aggressive, force the action nature may not suit the Rebels.
@VAYASAN ... If I waited to get all my painted to play, it would be months. Luckily, the local store is going to continue to allow folks to use the demo on league nights. Everyone I talked to today had at least 1 packaging error.
My rule right now is finishing my Rebel expansion and, then, popping open the Core. Yeah ... WAY backwards but keeps the workload realistic for 1-2 weeks.
Played two demo games for my first experience in war game miniatures at my FLGS this afternoon. I enjoyed it. Played one game as Rebels and the other as Imperial. Unfortunately, it seems my community is more into into board games than miniatures. My FLGS stopped hosting monthly X-wing tournaments last year. Not sure if there will be much interest in my area, but we will see. I purchased the Core Set and some expansions.
I started painting/building my Crait board tonight. I have some terrain already painted up and working on some more for the Crait landscape. I have some red crystal pieces, woodland scenic rocks painted like Crait, and I will add a crashed Crait skim ship.
I sandblasted an AT-ST to death with 3 Z-6 Troopers and a rotary blaster from an AT-RT...spray and pray indeed.
I just played my first real game as well. Love this game SO much.
Played my first game on release day. It was a blast!
My stalwart rebel strike team led by Commander Skywalker was not going to let Vader claim another planet for the Empire!
Sadly this was exactly what they did. But i managed to take a few with me.
This game is fun.
My local comic shop ran a launch event this weekend on the strength of the Star Wars license. They don't get much minis harder core than *Clix, but figured "What the heck, Star Wars sells well." So they gifted me a core set to demo with, since they knew I play miniatures games elsewhere.
Dammit. I was hoping the game would be bland and easy to pass on. Instead, it looks like it does have depth lurking beneath its surface streamlined elegance. *Sigh*
Now, I'm gonna have to find people to play with.

Who needs Impact when you're rolling 23 dice a turn?
There Will Be Crits
I still have yet to play even a core game, just played 1 squad, 1 hero as a demo before buying. I mostly picked it up because it looks really fun to paint and reminds me of a game I created with legos as a kid. And because runewars is taking waaaay to long to release more, so feed me minis!
Almost ready to prime, and hoping to get a full core game in tomorrow. I like what I’ve seen so far.
