Some thoughts about putting the minis together.

By Ken on Cape, in Star Wars: Legion

Anyone else not glue the majority of the arms on the minis? There was only a few where I did.

All my single minis are together, almost done with speed bikes. Taking a break, getting a bit frustrated with them.

Anyone else feel FFG should have been a lot more clearer on how the speeder bikes go together? A lot of small parts. Should have had better pics on exactly where to glue the pedals underneath, and the small rudders that go on front. It shows how they should be positioned but not where to glue them to. I'm happy with everything. I just thought FFG could have been more clear on some of the small stuff.

Then the AT RT and AT ST and I'm done putting together what I have.

Yeah, the speeder bike instructions are tricky. The... headlight-like piece isn't even visible in any of the complete pictures, so it took me a few tries to find where it went on the right side of the bike. Mnetioning that the pedals shouldn't go on until after the biker would probably be good to.

I totally screwed up the headlight that goes in the side of the bike. Both pics of how the bike goes together have it behind the gun you put underneath. So I thought that meant you glue the smaller barrel part of the gun to the larger part of the gun. (The light) so that’s what I did and glued the light to the main body where the gun goes. There are no arrows or anything in the pics showing that the gun goes in one place, the light somewhere else.

Does FFG have anyone that checks these instructions?

I struggled with some of those pieces as well until I realized there is a slot for everything. If a piece doesn't slide into a slot, it doesn't go there. Putting the biker on before the pedals was crucial, though.

The pieces I had the problems with was the little pistons on the legs of the AT-RT. I glued the legs on first and then couldn't get the pistons in there slots. I eventually just cut on of the pegs off and glued it to the side of the leg.

I also struggled with magnatizing the guns for the AT-RT, but that's not a FFG issue.

The back fin on my AT-RT(s) has what I think is a casting hole and, then, the tiniest of crack, which splits the fin apart.

Im still clearing up the minor flash from all the minis... I really like the miniatures. No sprues, minimal flash, really solid detail, quality plastic, easy to assemble. The only drawback I can think off is lack of customization but meh they are really nice overall.

Where are the instructions for the bikes and at rt, I can’t find them in the core

nevermind, I’m dumb, looked in the back and not the front

The speeder bikes are definitely something I would have preferred for them to decide "this is a toy, not a model kit".

That, or have better instructions on how to put it together. I put the AT-ST together from there instructions no problem.

It was interesting to figure how the headlight went on. I put the rider on then glued the pedals so I could prime both separately

The AT-RT and Luke are the only models I had great difficulty with. Luke just needed some trimming, but his left arm is still so much bigger around the sleeve than on the base.

For the AT-RT, I was missing a handle and had the same problem with the pistons. Based on the arrangement of the legs they were more than a millimeter too long. I send a request to FFG regarding the model in case others were having the same issue. I’m hoping I get a replacement since it was the only issue and was the very lat piece I was assembling!
