Thanks For All The Fish

By Boba Rick, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Thanks for all the fish, Imperial Assault, but I'm out.

I think this game is the best game I've ever played BY FAR, but life has gotten me so tied up that I simply don't have the time needed to continue it. I don't have setup time + game time, and I really don't have time to paint new minis. I can't stand playing with unpainted minis either.

I play X-Wing exclusively now because the setup and game time is literally 1.5 hours in total, and my wife plays it with me.

But in the end, Imperial Assault is a much better game and I'd still be playing it, except for the time factor.

Kinda sad, but it is what it is.

I get setup and play in 1.5 hours or less many times, if i have a list already to go. And thats including putting map tiles together and not just rolling out preready maps. What is (or was?) your storage solution?

We play campaign.

Maybe if we messed around with Skirmish it would be a lot less time.

Oh man, I highly recommend Skirmish mode. I'm sorry to hear you're giving up on the game, though. I've actually never done campaign.

I've never understood the point of threads like this. Are you trying to convince us to go with you? May I have your stuff?

The time comparison to XWing feels a little weird if you’re just playing campaign, which ought to take a lot longer. You could also try out the app, which lets you save where you’re at mid-game so you could end a session whenever you wanted.

Also, I’d say try out the other game in the box (skirmish) before you unload or give up on it.

Above all, Don’t Panic ?

The potential issue there is that it could be an addition break down and set up if one isn’t able leave the game out. Personally I have a cat that likes to roll dice and knock damage tokens off the table (in fact I just found one under the couch this afternoon).

That's 30 seconds I won't get back.

Mine is 17 y.o. and does not care much about my IA set up in the garage! She's more up to sleep, sleep, sleep, eat, sleep on the balcony under the sun, repeat

My cat has jumped up on our table before, and she loves to "roll" the IA dice.

Probably the most incredible thing she ever did was when were were in the latter half of a game of Rebellion with lots of minis on the board, and she quickly jumped across and skittered right over the board, managing to not displace a single mini. No idea how she managed that, since she's usually a klutz.

Rebellion is a very large map! Sounds to me like your cat did the kessel run in less than 12 parsecs!!

I love the animal references. CATs vs Mon Calamari ! 2 new factions coming to a gaming store near you.
