dreadnought on Rebels

By Payens, in Star Wars: Armada

I am sure this has already gone around the forums but I just saw the last few episodes of Star Wars Rebels and I saw a dreadnought in the second last one. Hope this means that they are coming to armada soon! next announcement Rebels and Imperial.

And look! A new flotilla for the empire! Cargo Hauler!

While I wouldn't mind seeing the cargo hauler, it is definitely way too big to be a Flotilla. The Ghost is 49.3m long.

You can just make it out on the side of the cargo containers.

Just the cargo hauler alone must be between 150m to 200m long, add in the standard container load, and it is closer to 400m

Is that a Dreadnaught or a Carrack, which has already been confirmed as canon in the Tarkin and Aftermath novels?

The concept art is a little too big for me to upload, but the dish placement and "blisters" on the outside, and the front slope make it look more like a Dreadnought.

“Imperial Support Vessel” or something like that.

I want the cargo vessel. We need a campaign that involves interdicting trade routes.

I plan on doing this version too...

It is officially labeled the Imperial support vessel on Wookieepedia but it is based on the old legends Dreadnaught heavy cruiser. So this is currently the uniffcially an imperial heavy cruiser

FFG armada license only covers the galactic civil war, right? They would have to pay more to do clone wars and maybe the math doesnt make sense for them right now.

The ship was used by the Empire even if most were phased out by the point the GCW really ignited. It would make sense to add it at some point, likely as a large carrier based ship.

Arquitens is a clone wars ship...

They have the full license, they just don't have the guts. The misconception is that there would be a huge backlash because, oh no not the prequels, nerd rage continues. Arquitten, Z-95, Gozanti, all are CW era. X-wing has a few other entries as well.

The call for a Venator has been drowned out by the cries of the SSD group.

And the Venator crowd has drowned out the cries of team Vindicator

And so the circle of life continues...

I think the time as come for the Dreadnought.

And I hope it will be the first ship to be dual faction (as in Rebellion PC game). :)

Does look a little like a battle star without the fighter bays

Which was essentially made into a Civil War ship by being depicted during Rebels. In Use. Same as the Pelta. And the Gozanti. They're not necessarily using the Clone Wars versions, they are now using Civil War versions that are depicted on screen during the Civil War timeline. Which includes Rebels.

Now... The only image we have during Rebels of a Venator is a model sitting behind Grand Moff Tarkin.

It is technically depicted, but its not... its not actually being used as a ship in that regards...

The last time we see it used is in the Clone Wars timeline... and at the very end of the Prequel Trilogy... So far, its not depicted in the Civil War.

It is name dropped in Thrawn ... But again, its a name drop of the class, and in use... But arguably its tough to tell where Civil War starts, and at least, I feel, when its mentioned in Thrawn, its still Prequel era - given that the whole Thrawn Novel was pre-Rebels, and the Venator section is at the start .

Realistically the Venators are too new to be decommissioned by the GCW.

Dude, you did not just use the word "Realistically" in relation to something in Star Wars , did you? :D

Let's say "rationally" then. You can't argue that the Empire is (mostly) rational...

I love Fractal's take on it. It has design elements also present in the Gozanti, making this an obvious choice for a new medium Imperial ship. Rebels would hopefully get the Assault frigate mkI as its counterpart. Multi-faction ships will probably never happen with Armada even though I'd love to see Imperial Nebulon-B's etc.

From the organisation that brought you the colossal waste of effort that was the Death Star!? ?
