Speeder Bike Sgt - How are you marking him?

By Galahax, in Star Wars: Legion

Was just curious as to how the community is differentiating the Biker Sgt (or leader, whatever) from his wingman? Was thinking of coloring his shoulder the same way as the Stormie, but i'm not entirely thrilled with that idea. Then I had a few beers and thought about throwing skulls down on the base a la warhammer, but then i sobered up and said nah. :P

Plans? Suggestions?

You could add "nose art" to his speeder?

Leave tarp off of back or paint tarp as the identifier.

Make one commander Cody.....paint his visor yellow

the cores sets's models are two different casts right? Just choose one yo be the leader always and remember that he is the leader. If not, buy those tiny round stickers at any bookstore and stick one on the base. You can remove it anytime :)

the trooper that's smart enough to look where he's going is clearly the leader :P

actually the core box model looking back is one leader ( it is the one Painted red on the rulebook figures, so it is the leader) .

The expansions has a model which looks like he is stearing the bike. The other model is the same as the second biker from the core box.

Therefore the different model in the expansions is the leader...

My core has one figure leaning to the side shooting his blaster ,arnt they very different models so dont need identifying?

Im pretty sure hes talking about the individual pack and not the core

I think the best options have been mentioned, visor and/or shoulder

I don't have the models yet, so maybe this is impossible to paint, but in the 501st costume club more stripes (right side) supposedly means higher rank. I went with 4 stripes and you could have up to 6.

Either:

Add an antenna to the back of the unit leader's bike.

OR

Paint a red stripe on their bike somewhere.

The stripes would be hard to do unless you have a real steady hand. Good Idea though.

My speeder bike unit leader is pointing backwards with his pistol. Of course I haven't bought the expansion pack yet.

I haven't checked the rules reference about this - are the outside rims of the bases allowed to be different colors? Because you could just pick a scheme for that, like maybe unit leaders have red bases and others have black, or unit leaders have black bases and others brown.

I' thinking of having each unit painted bases to match with leader having a stripe or something along the base to differentiate

Yeah, they are. You can demarcate squads or commanders with base color. Seems like a pretty elegant solution. I’m planning on doing slightly brighter bases for my commanders.

Awesome! Thanks. I think I'm going to do dark green for everyone and then light green for the leaders.

Learn to Play pg 5 labels the 74-Z Speederbike Unit Leader as the one holding both handles. That pose is duplicated in the expansion, along with one who is leaning forward more.

My Rebel leaders will have helmet stripes like WW2 US infantry officers. I'll probably do something similar somewhere on the fuselage of the speederbike.
