Opportunistic and Son of Skywalker question

By topacesteve, in Imperial Assault Rules Questions

Hello, these two cards both state that "after A figure activates" or "after A figure suffers hits"

Question A : i activate Luke, can i play SoS to activate him again? (a figure which is the same - Luke - activated)

Question B : my IG88 suffers hits - can i use opportunistic to give the same figure (IG88) 3 MPs?

The texts states A figure not ANOTHER figure but i would like to clarify it...

Yes, “a figure” includes self whereas “another figure” excludes self.

Just a note on question A based on how you’ve worded it:

I believe SoS readies his card (granted I haven’t looked at it in some time). I’m sure your aware, but as a “just in case” I’ll say it anyway: Luke would not get two activations in a row unless your opponent passes or has no ready groups, in which case you could elect to activate him right away.

umm for B the answer is no. Unless you're playing mirror matches where your IG-88 hits your opponent's IG-88, you cannot play opportunistic to give your IG-88 3MP when it (IG-88) suffers dmg

IG-88 is not hostile to itself and the trigger for it is "after a hostile figure", not just "a figure"

Opportunistic

As an aside, 'Opportunistic' also only works for mercenary figures (yours). In other words, you can only play it during one of your mercs' activations, as I understand...

You don't need to play Opportunistic on a figure whose activation it is. You can play it on any friendly mercenary-affiliation figure (after a hostil figure suffers damage).

Ah, I see. As long as an opponent figure takes damage from some source (direct or blast or whatever), one of your mercs gets movement points.

Could opportunistic be played during end of round? For example, if Jabba takes a damage from black market?

I don't see why not.
