So you have to attack with several characters for the pump to be strong,

Not necessarily. If I have 3 Warships, I can either attack with 3 characters, kneel all 3 Warships to trigger the ability once and give all 3 characters +3 in one fell swoop. Or, I could attack with just 1 character, kneel 1 of my Warships to trigger the ability once and give my 1 attacker +1 STR, and then trigger the ability 2 more times (once for each of my remaining Warships) to give it a total of +3 STR. It's not like this is once per challenge!

I could see this location going either way...definitely useful if you have warships sitting around that you aren't using, or else some way to stand and remove characters from challenges (so that you can swing with 2-3 characters, then stand and remove the extra but keep the bonus).

Why remove? Support of Harlaw, especially on an Intimidate character, gets you far enough!

yeah I was trying to figure a way to make this tricksy too. you could also use it on a weenie defender, kneel 2-3 and pick your attackers w/ intimidate so win a challenge on defense and increase your ability to win on attack especially unopposed.

I'm thinking the warship restriction was a good one. this would get silly if I could kneel +1 gold locations....yikes.

plus it makes a use out of winter armada if you just can't get it to be winter

grossest of all, these make wintertime mauraders +3 STR.......

The one thing that's always concerned me about Winter Armada is if it becomes Summer....the only other GJ Warships are LIV, Scouting Vessel, and Longship "Foamdrinker." I've always found Foamdrinker to be expensive and it doesn't make sense to kneel LIV for trigger Escort's effect. This leaves Scouting Vessel as the only other Warship you would use with Escort.

I guess if you have Escort and Scouting Vessel out it gives Scouting Vessel (SV) a bit more utility. Sometimes it's more important to win a challenge on defense than offense. SV by itself only helps with the latter. SV also becomes a bit of an overkill if you have multiple copies out or are controlling a character like Euron, who can give all your GJ characters stealth. Additionally, SV only targets one defending character; however, if you kneel it to trigger Escorts ability and pump a character you control with Intimidate, it could potentially "target" more/all of your opponents characters in that their strength won't count for the challenge.

After thinking about it, I may have overreacted a bit. Obviously, Naval Escort is MUCH better if you could kneel any of you locations, but with the added utility it provides for SV I think it still may work out pretty well; especially if you're running a mill deck with some Kraken Tattoos. It certainly adds utility to Winter Armada as well if you like running them. Until I get to try them out, I'm going to give them a 3/4.

Having to discard it from play if you don't control GJ characters might be an issue. If you're running saves then you'll probably be alright. Running a Wharf Rat on yourself would resolve the issue, but you would be milling yourself. Playing First Mate might be a better solution, or if you're running Reinforcement cards, Weathered Crew.

I was thinking one copy of WInter Armada and if your facing targ don't play it. Not sure your going to see too much summer elsewhere.

Also, you don't need other warships to make use of naval escort and if you want to there are going to me a lot more coming down the pipe.

The Greyjoy warship is not impressive, I'd say it's a mediocre card (right now anyway).

I can't say the same thing about the Targ event. That's in my opinion the best card in this chapter pack by far.

In retrospect, my original post wasn't very clear. By "for the pump to be strong" I meant "to gain the greatest benefit." Three warships will pump one guy +3 if triggered separately, but I'd rather give +3 to three different guys (for a total of 9 additional STR). I really like the Support of Harlaw idea though...definitely a very strong combination.
