Is anyone planning on any "out-there" stormtrooper paint jobs? There's the standard white, maybe camo or with symbols (ala clonetroopers), or even dead black (might be a cool theme to make a sort of "personal guard" for Vader), but anyone doing anything more outside the box?
Outlandish Stormtrooper schemes
My buddy said he was going to paint his a glossy metallic gold. I can't wait to see how they turn out.
Power Rangers and Ponies.
I am painting up an entire squad of Shadowtroopers and a squad that will have peices of Scarif armor. I did it for an Imperial Assault character and really liked how it came out.
I also have a set of decals from a Bandai AT-ST that are just a series of Imperial Insignias so those are going on them too.

Any chance for pics? I'm curious.

You mean this:

I'm trying to decide my schemes still. I'm mainly a rebel player, so I kind of want to do something out there with my Imps.
Neon pink with the hello kitty logo count?
No, that’s pretty standard in my meta. Never mind.
I caution against all black Stormtroopers unless you have a different paint scheme planned for Death Troopers, for both your own and your opponent's convenience. Speaking from experience here (historical wargaming with minor variations of uniform with the same paint scheme for historical accuracy).
As to my own paint plan, I'm thinking bone armor, perhaps with a different spot color to differentiate individual units.
I’m having more of an issue figuring out my rebel troop color schemes. I want the fleet troops to somewhat match the rebel troops, but they don’t fit each others style very well

I remember seeing a green paint scheme for Fleet Troopers somewhere. Alternately, you could paint the pants and shirt the same colour of brown/khaki on both sets of minis.

Not that I'm an expert, but GCW Stormtroopers are white, so that will be my color for them even though I like the Clone wars color schemes. If I paint rebels they will be German camo schemes like I did for my Bolt Action figures, most of my squads have slight variations, but still look like an army (non-camo pants, green or khaki base color, non-camo helmets, etc.)
@Bohemian73 I'm considering something similar for my Rebel troopers, although I might do different squads in the base colors of different WW2 nation's uniforms, using a german camo scheme for the coats. But I'm not sure yet, I do know I want my Rebels to have a bit of a "we are trying to be uniform, but come from different planets" look.
And the main reason I plan on using something OTHER than white for my Stormtroopers is to differentiate them from everybody's white Stormtroopers. I'm not sure which side I will favour just yet, but I do know that in an Empire vs Empire or Rebel vs Rebel engagement I want to be able to tell my units apart from my opponent's very easily.
I’ll do my Rebels most likely as I did my Dust axis models, Imperials as normal except snowtroopers will be galactic marines scheme

I'm doing a Rainbow Darth and accompanying mane cast stormtrooper group to tilt one of my local players XD
I give my Bolt Actions squads different weapons (machine gun squad versus assault rifles) and paint the bases different colors to help distinguish them. I will make my Imperial troops with unique bases to 'mark, them as mine.
I'm not doing anything too crazy. Just adding some purple, black, and silver into parts to make them my costuming colors. I may paint my 4th and 5th batallions in a more flamboyant fashion though.
One of my Squads will be the 501st with Captain Rex's Blue color scheme. I think I am going to do a Red Trooper armor squad, kind of Royal Guard color scheme. The rest I think are going to be generic White.
The Rebels will get a Tatooine Squad, an Endor Squad, a Cloud City Squad, and then a basic tan theme.
One of my Vader mini's will be Father Sithmas.... and the other is going to be classic Vader.
Luke will get his Cloud City garb and I am nor sure what to do with the second one yet.
