You only get the victory token if the rear hull zone is targeted and damage is scored (in any method), is that correct?

It is notpossible to shoot the side hull, scoring a crit with ACM, get one damage on an unshielded rear hull, and score the victory token?

Only if the rear is being attacked, and at least one damage is being done, you get a victory token.

You even get one when this damage is redirected to the sides. As long as the rear was attacked, it does not matter what zone was damaged.
