Well, take that with a grain of salt, because Ford never wanted to reprise Solo, either.

I don't think that's a hard commitment to make, anyways. . .Disney is moving on with the next trilogy that features nothing for Ridley to be called back for.

I wonder if she is a little disappointed in her character's story arc as well. She seemed so excited about being Rey previously.

Millie Bobby Brown of Stranger Things has said she'd like to, and looks the part. Likewise, though, I don't understand the purpose of a remake and think it would come off terribly.

She is a good bit young for the role, at least at present but I could see it. But yea, the OT shouldn't be remade, I just feel it would be like trying to remake Back to the Future or something. Stuff is from the time it was made and we should enjoy it rather than going "Remake it I want to see it look modern." (read lots of Hi-def and CG). I think most remakes tend to fail anyways, reimaginings work better but can you imagine the mess it would be if they reimagined the OT as opposed to just remaking it? I mean like the effects that would have on the Star Wars canon with possibly two different set of events existing, and if they went in and basically had it where the Original OT was thrown out for a new OT it would be beyond disrespectful.

TLDR, a remake would be pretty horrible for a number of reasons.

How about a ‘side story’ film set during ANH and ESB. There’s three years between films that could show the big three in a lighthearted adventure romp, cast three new look alike kids and have fun. Rework Spinter of the Minds Eye or any of the dozen of comics storylines taking place in that time.

Or Holiday Special done right. There’s your remake.

Theoretically you can set a whole trilogy in that time period.
